Yeah pretty much. Idk why people say TWM is the best.

I don't think the twm is the best anymore. Its very expensive compared to bps and OTTP shifters and it seems like both OTTP and bps are designed a little better. I never understood why twm never made the reverse lockout tab like how the OTTP one is. It seems like the OTTP shifter would go into reverse much much easier.

It seems like kind of a waste for OTTP to come out with a shifter this late. I think most cobalt people already have either a twm or bps.

I think it is hysterical when people complain about one of the only companies that is still developing and supporting the cobalt.

Besides, the OTTP has the changes on it the "old" companies refused to make.

I do agree that OTTP has a better design.

After installing mine in the summer and using it for several months (including one long trip for a vacation) before parking for the winter, I can honestly say it's a really good shifter. The shifter feel is much better and the throws are noticeably better. I had also installed the bushing and aluminium connector and I feel both were good add ons - especially compared with the poorly designed factory model.

As for those suggesting it is too late for them coming out with this, I disagree. I was always on the fence with purchasing a new shifter and was always worried about all the trade offs with the other designs. Some worked only a short while. Some were only a shorter handle but no better actual performance. While others were just ridiculously priced.

I think the OTTP is a really good design and is something even those with current STS should consider.

Great write up man.

Does anybody have pics of the delrin, or the stainless/delrin hybrid?

I swore I had some on my phone but I can't seem to find any. If I track them down I'll post one for you. I'd go an take one right now for you but the car is buried under several inches of snow at the moment...

That boot looks great with the shifter . . looks stronger than OEM for sure. That's the vinyl boot?

I think the OEM leather is about .004 thick

Thanks for the review! So which one do you feel is the best between BPS and OTTP so far? Im torn between the two and right now OTTP has a very interesting special.

I just installed this, and I didn't not at all like fifth gear issue. and my reverse lockout plastic thing on the housing of the car was busted so I made my own blocker/lockout out of some aluminum. I gotta find some thicker plastic to make it batter. now fifth worths how it should and reverse is a little different but also works and locks out like it should.

Installed the OTTP a few weeks ago, love it so far. 5th was hard to find at first but now feels intuitive. I highly recommend. Will make more of a difference on the SCs however, where apparently the shifting is less firm.

Mine's been in the car almost a year now, and still just love this shifter. Once you get it tuned how you like, ... I never think of it again.

As for them being "late" in earlier posts, I mean good lord... people still make new shifters for the Ford Mustang T5 & T45 transmissions you can always innovate.

Not at all. There's a step by step instruction guide that someone did on this website and it took me about 45 minutes. Super nice quality short throw shifter. Well worth the money

I think I got 1 inch shorter can't remember but I was shorter for sure. Why don't you pick the same size as stock boot?
