Thumbs up 2008 LNF Long Block, G85 Trans, K04 Turbo, FULL ASSEMBLY

For sale is my 2008 Gen I LNF Long block from oil pan to valve cover. Also, the stock Transmission (WITH G85 PACKAGE) and the original K04 Turbo that came with it. I also have the original wiring harness, PCM, pedal assembly, and gauges.

Assembly came from a 2008 Cobalt SS with 240k miles on the body. Engine, transmission, and turbo ran perfect. Vehicle was always taken care of (oil changes on time, etc).

I would like to sell the assembly as one whole unit, without the accessory drives (ex, Alternator, etc). Besides the accessories, I am not really interested in tearing the assembly apart but I will consider offers that won’t waste my time. Looking for someone local but I am willing to work out shipping with serious buyers only.

My location is: SOUTH JERSEY

Best way to contact me is through PM. Further Contact can be facilitated from there.

For the entire assembly, I am asking $5,000.00/OBO. Throw me an offer the worst I can say is no! I know it sounds like a lot however I am basing this price off of fair market value less depreciation.

I apologize for the late night photos, if this gets interest or I am instructed to do so, I will update with daylight photos! Also will take pictures upon request.

I will be more than happy to answer any questions about the assembly.

2008 LNF Long Block, G85 Trans, K04 Turbo, FULL ASSEMBLY

Just so you know, people would pay less than that for the whole car.

He's right... there's one near hear with 1/4 the miles for 6k, bad title, but the engine trans etc are in perfect shape. Lemme know if you want to sell just the transmission/clutch assembly. Mine is about to take a dump.

I'm interested to hear your offers on the assembly or individual parts, as I said I'm open to "Best Offer" and am willing to part it out if the price is right. It's a fully working assembly in great condition, I'd hate to just tear it apart and I'm in no rush to get rid of it.

The price is based off other assemblies and parts being sold in the Eastern US. Around this area, these parts are "rare" and expensive, regardless of miles. Which surprised me, but meh.

@zdohare if you're interested in the trans/clutch assembly, PM me with an offer.

Just to be clear, there are 240,000 miles on the engine, turbo, and transmission?

@tuned08SS as I stated, I am not interested in selling the assembly as individual parts unless a "worth it" offer is thrown at me. Please PM me with an offer or post it here. The worst I can say is no!

@Ecaulk, Yes
The vehicle (good title) was bought with that assembly inside it. The vehicle drove perfectly with that assembly however I had a lower mileage assembly sitting around (project) and decided to just put that assembly inside the car and sell this one.

@reybalt a 0 mile LDK for less than 2K would be a bone block with nothing in it. Once you add the rods, pistons, heads, etc, you're talking well over 3-4K. AND that doesn't include a G85 Transmission and Turbo. I'm selling the ENTIRE ASSEMBLY for 5K or BEST OFFER.

Thank you for your comment though!

Negative ghost rider, its 2k for a completed motor, 2.5k for completed motor with new turbo assembly.

Not sure how much life is left in those parts at 240k

Considering that I don't see many people buying LDK assemblies as often as others, I'd say there is a good reason why they are cheap. But this thread isn't for that, this thread is for the sale of THIS assembly. If you want an LDK you're looking in the wrong place.

My 240K miles are just what they are, 240,000 miles. The only difference is that this assembly was ALWAYS well taken care of and is in better shape than most assemblies under 100K. If the miles are what bother you, but you're interested in the assembly, I will do my UTMOST BEST to assure you that it's in good shape.

I'm not selling the Transmission for $2,500 either. But if somebody was interested in it, they can throw me an offer and the worst I can say is no. Considering the probability of finding a vendor that sells an F35 Trans with LSD BRAND NEW, I'd say that you could get a better deal from me.

I did the math for what I'm selling but at a BRAND NEW cost and it would obviously not even be worth it. My price is low compared to that, my 5K is my starting price, as I said I will take OBO.

I'm in no rush to sell the assembly, and if there's no interest now, that's fine, there will be later considering the market for the Cobalt is considerably smaller than almost any other.

Yeah, you can you've been away from the cobalt game for too long. I could source both engine and transmission less shipping for about what you're asking, engine new, transmission rebuilt with new parts by a competient vendor

I'd like to know how 240k is better than less than 100k. Did you take the diameter of the crankshaft? Have you had a leak down test performed? How are the blocker rings on the gears in the transmission?

Also just because its rare doesnt mean its work over 2x the normal value

If this car was driven under normal conditions compared to that of abnormal conditions, the life expectancy would be different. That goes with any car as well.

5K may seem a lot, but what you're expressing is low-balling at its finest. I haven't been out of the game at all, My only problem with the "cobalt game" is the age and maturity of Cobalt Drivers. I'm also willing to work on the price, but so far nobody has even attempted to put their own price tag on it. This sale isn't your average sale, as most times, as I've seen for myself, these motors are completely parted along with everything else. And as I stated, I'd just hate to tear apart a perfectly working assembly. But do what you gotta do!

so if this assembly at 240k is just as good as one under 100k, why did you swap it out? why not keep it and let it keep going?

LDK for 2500 that leaves you 2500 (plenty) to price out a tranny.

that gives you, as ecaulk mentioned, a BRAND NEW 0 miles motor/turbo and tranny for less than what your asking for....

I swapped it out because I had a lower assembly sitting in my garage as a project. When my project was done, I swapped it into my Cobalt. Now I have this assembly sitting around and I wanna clear it out of my garage. I'm in no rush to swap it, and if something were to happen to the one in my car now, I'd swap it back in an instant because I know it's in great shape.

In any circumstance, people go with the lower mileage and I get that! Totally understandable! But I am in no rush to sell it and I've been taking everything that's been said into consideration.

sorry bro for the price your asking anyone can get that brand new LDK motor which holds a lot more power then the LNF motor. did you do a leak down test or anything ecaulk said?? if you do that and show proof you may have a better time selling man. were not trying to be rude but even at your $5,000 obo price its not like you will take $2000-$2500 like what most people are probably thinking if not lower

I do not have any written or video proof of the tests and as I said before I understand where everyone is coming from. At the same time, nobody is mentioning how much a full assembly is costing, just short blocks.

I'm selling the FULL ASSEMBLY at one price as of right now.

if you're not interested in the sale, then I don't understand how "who's your weed guy" is going to help with the pricing of it.

And I am not firm on $5,000.00 Obviously that's my wishing price but I keep repeating that I'm taking offers! So far the only "offer" I've had is 2-2.5k. I would consider anything, as I'm open to any cash trade.

Now I'd really like to keep this on topic, thanks.

My reading is just fine, but I will stand where I stood before when I say that the amount of LDK's going into Cobalt's is not that high, Unless you can prove otherwise. If you're not interested in the sale and have nothing else to offer to me, then I would rather have you not spam my thread. I'm here to sell these parts, not engage in a debate. Your pricing of an LDK (NOT AN LNF) has been noted and I appreciate the insight but right now I am not interested in lowering my buy it now price. I will take Offers as I have said. Thank you.
