Yeah Manfroto's are big bucks. Check out Calumet too. I work right near both stores and have been in both. Pricing wise they're about what you'll find anywhere unless you go used on eBay.

I need a new tripod head for mine too. The base is solid but the head is flimsier than ****.

See Im not afraid to spend the extra money on quality products. As long as I take care of it, and not beat it to ****, it should last me atleast 10 years. yes the head might wear out and need to be replaced... but still the actual tripod itself is great quality!

i have a sunpak tri pod with the dumb piston grip handle for panning(panning can be very un-smooth)

is there a way to replace the head with one of those actual handle ones?

You pay for quality. Same with anything in photography. I would not trust my camera on a cheap tripod.

Here is new photo I just took taking multiple photos and blending them together. This is made up of six photos. All I brought with me was a million candle watt spot light with a homemade diffuser, a tripod, and remote triggers.

So my mentor has been getting me ready for rolling shots with a rig setup.

Here is how my final product should look. Rig is on the way and got some nice cars lined up already.

I think Im just gonna stick with the D600 and a 24-70mm 2.8 and my Manfrotto CF Tripod and Head for now. then save up for a 14-24mm 2.8

I will also at some point be buying a SB-910 flash, stand and umbrella

Hopefully will be getting enough for my refund. Which my W2s come out on the 24th!

Good morning all. I figured I'd drop the link to my photostream in here for everyone to take a look at, if you don't mind that is. I can't get the pics to post for some reason so that's why I'm dropping the link in here. Any constructive criticism is welcomed!
