Thanks for the advice on that one. I was going to just use photobucket. I've spent more time reading about the camera than I have using it so far. I've made a bit of progress. Learned to shoot in manual mode, and fully understand the exposure triangle to go along with it. I want to start messing with depth of field, as I really love those types of pictures, but I don't feel that is the appropriate next step lol.

With a prime lens with an aperture of like 1.8 or 1.4 that blurry bg becomes more smoother and milky and the less stuff infocus as the wider(smaller #) the less the camera will focus on.

u can try dof, but certain lens will help create the image better. u can do it will your kit lens by being pretty close to the subject at hand and have the camera set at the widest aperture (3.5) ~ maybe and the background will come out blurry and fun haha

And that's what I was figuring. I've got two lenses (gotta love that Costco package), but the lowest f value I've seen so far is 3.5. I'm going to play a bit tonight. I've got a few things I want to try before I take my Christmas tree down.

fun little edit

a nice open location helps so u can position the car or yourself to capture the best angle. I get lucky and just move into postion and turn the wheel a little and it works out haha
shooting manual if the camera u have allows it, idk what you have. and post editing to make the image pop.
when outside ISO 100 is the best but if u need to set it higher like something under 400 to keep from putting the shutter too slow to gain the amount of light needed to get the shot.
try mimicking what u see others do that you like to do as well. sure somethings require the correct equipment but that info is out there to help

Welp. Just heard a nasty little rumor that the midwest drift series that I've been shooting for the past 3 years has pretty much collapsed. Wont have much time this season to travel further away to watch events, but I'm glad I was able to shoot these dudes on track for so many events.

love those action shots man ^
if u have tripod handy it helps if lighting is an issue in areas.
if u do some post editing on the seat photo it will come out that much better
