I'm aware my Cobalt with 121,500+ miles and counting isn't worth much, but the monetary value isn't as important to me as the sentimental value.

Congrats on the Cruze, bmartz. Keep that Cobalt looking pristine!
Thanks, I plan too! I want to keep the Cobalt for a long time.

I'm not letting the salt destroy my Cobalt. I don't care what the car is worth, to me it's priceless.

BINGO!

That's why I stopped dailying mine. I will NEVER get rid of it, so I want to (a) put fewer miles on it and (b) reduce the risk of it getting stolen/damaged/totaled by other idiots
One day a Cobalt SS will be a collector's item

I dunno. im back and forth with the whole daily thing.

Its a car, that's meant to get driven. I don't quite understand having a car you drive rarely unless your car is a pure race car and cant be DD'd.

However its everyone's choice.

I'm like that too but living in the heavily congested area I live in has changed my mind. I don't care about my car breaking... But everyday I see people nearly wreck into others due to their lack of attention... Even this morning I watch this lady almost change lanes right into another car while she was on the phone, the car was had a bright torqouis green car....and the worst part was she didn't think to hang up even though she almost nearly caused a serious accident.

People like that make me hate to bring my car out

That's NY literally every day. People will actually spin out NASCAR style in front of you and cause a pile up.

It all depends on how you drive it. If you keep the miles low on your car but floor it and rev it out every time you use it then it isn't going to last any longer than a car with double the mileage that's just driven normally below 4000rpm. I take very good care of my car and part of that is having the self control to not floor it and drive like a retard every time you're behind the wheel. Just because you have a fast car doesn't mean you need to drive it that way every day you're in it.

And that is the reason why i havent had my car for nearly 2 months. People dont pay attention and they hit you, even if my damage wasnt big i still got hit. After so much hard work and money put into it to get it damaged by someone else. Thats why i would rather have a dd that i dont care for as much

I drive 50 miles a day, 5 days a week. That adds up quick.

I don't have any Cobalt problems currently lol

Money pit is ******* right.

So slow, but watch a Cruze SS come out now

I'm glad somebody else thinks like I do

Not sure if it'll be a collector car, but time will tell.

It makes perfect sense for those of us who never want to sell the car. If I planned on getting rid of the car at some point I would drive the **** out of it.

I love my Cobalt. And that is exactly why I DD the car. Yes, it has 238K miles. Yes it never had any major problems. Original: suspension components, battery, water pump, alternator, A/C compressor, timing chain, and rear discs, (would have been serpentine belt except STG 2 belt now).

If I destroy the engine, then I'll probably just buy a new crate engine if possible.

I have mod which help car performance, but also help avoid other drivers' mistakes. In addition, I also do some HPDE to improve my driving. I need to get back into autocross. There is no substitute from handling an emergency lane change using autocross skills.
