The top guide bolt likes to break and causes slack in the chain. Is is coming from the supercharger snout or the motor?

It sounds to me like it is coming from the timing chain area. I need to get it taken apart and looked at

It's less about the slack and more about how much dynamic movement there is when the thing is running. Pull the large hex head for the top chain guide and see if you still have a whole guide and bolt in there. It's right next to the engine mount towards the front of the car.

It does look like you still have an entire guide and bolt there.

You can tell which one they put in by the shape of the bolt head sticking out of the back of the block.
