I'll just leave this right here btw.

Greg,

I insured your lights at USPS for a high rate just in case they broke during shipping. The ligts should have been in 3 packages. 1 big followed by 2 small packed into spec headlight boxes. I have no problem fixing them to perfection. I would just like you to be satisfied with your product 100%. As you could've seen in the progress pics I sent they were 100% fine prior to shipping. As I said, i just want you to be satisfied.

On January 11, 2012 9:06:49 PM PST, Gregory Edward Ronalds wrote:

Hey Francis,

How do we go about fixing this? I'm a little concerned that the box isn't damaged so USPS might turn down the insurance. There's also the $65 I had to pay in duty fees and I really don't want to have to pay this again... I just feel at a loss with these headlights, they seem to be cursed with it first off taking 6 months to even get to my doorstep and then when they do get here they're destroyed..

On January 11, 2012 10:07:54 PM PST, Franciss Fiel wrote:

I'll pay you the amount to ship back here then fix them correctly and then ship back to you. I have no problem making everything perfect for you.

On January 12, 2012 10:51:07 AM PST, Gregory Edward Ronalds wrote:

Ok Francis.. I know you're trying to be helpful. But let's say I do send them back to you (will take roughly 20 days to get back to you) then when you get them back.. who knows how long it will take then it will take another 20 days to get back to me (and another $65 in duty fees). Basically I am looking at another 2-3+ months until I get my headlights that I ordered in July. Sorry if I am coming off as being a jerk but I am just really frustrated. I am at the point where I just want to ship these things back to you and get a full refund and you can do whatever you want with them.

On January 13, 2012 9:27:53 AM PST, Franciss Fiel wrote:

Hey Greg,

I apologize for my untimely fashion. I am currently trying to make arrangements for the lights to be mailed back by USPS, I am scheduled to meet with a person who can help me with it tomorrow afternoon. I am hoping that they will be able to expedite things for a quicker shipping service. I plan to work on your lights as soon as I receive it and will send it back to you no longer than 2 weeks of having them. I will email you details of the USPS meeting.

On January 13, 2012 1:48:42 PM PST, Gregory Edward Ronalds wrote:

Hey Francis,

I think you skipped over the point of my last message. Even then I'm looking at another 2 months. If you're honestly wanting to just make me 100% happy again I was serious about just wanting to ship these lights back to you and getting a full refund. I should not of had to wait this long for a set of headlights I paid $1050 for as I watched multiple other sets being completed. I wish you could of taken a little more care in the shipping, but now I am at the point where I don't even care anymore and I just want my money back.

On January 14, 2012 3:48:18 PM PST, Franciss Fiel wrote:

I understand you are disappointed. my apologies for how things turned out. i am extending my best intention of resolving this problem by making arrangements to have you send back the items to me. i will replace, fix the items and return it back to you within 2 weeks after receiving at no cost to you. hopefully you are amendable to this. i talked to usps and a filed a report, next step is that they suggested that you also inform the post office by you that the package received was damaged and bring the package to the post office be sent back here. you don't have to pay any mailing cost. please let me know when you are ready to bring the package to the post office and if a case number is needed i will provide it to you.

On January 14, 2012 4:46:40 PM PST, Gregory Edward Ronalds wrote:

OR I can send them back to you, and you can send my money back to me. After 6 months of bullshit, and lies you actually think I'm going to believe that you will have these back to me that soon? Thanks to my CSS post's I have learned I am not the frist person to have a problem with you. I have also come to realize that you were just lazy when you put them together. They should not have arrived to me 6 months later broken. I don't want your headlights. I want my money back, and my buisness to someone who knows what priorities are. Like finishing the ones that someone paid $1050 dollars for instead of working on new projects like Nates. How long did that take you exactly? While I was still waiting for mine? Let alone someone who isn't going to string it along, and maybe knows something about how to treat customers. That being said you can give me my money back, and I can ship them back. You know just like you wouldn't start the work until you got my money.

On January 17, 2012 1:14:37 PM PST, Gregory Edward Ronalds wrote:

Really Francis? Are you ignoring me? I've seen you online on both here and CSS.net. That is horrible customer service and I will not stand for it.

Sorry that you think I am ignoring you, I am still in the process of seeing how USPS can insure for damages during shipping of your product.I am still pending on them for when they give me instructions and information.

This is the type of thing you should be feeding back to me Francis, it's called COMMUNICATION and it's very important considering you are dealing with customers that put out money. You could at least respond with that information that you just gave me. As for my last comment, you never really addressed it. I expect my money back.. I am not going on the trust that you will turn them around in two weeks (which still in my opinion is too long) I dragged up the boxes from my old headlights (which btw cost half the price of these) and those things were wrapped in bubble wrap multiple times, not just shoved in a cardboard box. Unfortunately you have left me where I'm in a position that I can't even report you to paypal to get them to get my money back - but I can still work other angles if you really push me to. I shouldn't have to wait for you to go through USPS. I paid for these things back in July of last year and i am tired of having $1050 tied up in something that I don't even own/have. I want my money back ASAP and then you can work out the details with USPS, this should not dampen me.

On January 19, 2012 12:17:02 PM PST, Gregory Edward Ronalds wrote:

Francis, once again I saw you online yesterday. I respectfully demand a response that addresses my points by the end of the day today. Do not think I am being pushy or unfair. What is unfair is that you have had my $1050 for 186 days and I still have no headlights. I want my money back now. I expect to see a confirmation from Paypal saying I have received my money shortly.

Not sure who built these......Ill let them chime in if they are up to it.....

Popped reflector and sweet overspray on the chrome

Oh hai...this one popped too

A lot going on in this pic....see if you can follow it all. rear covers epoxied in place, unsealed shutter connector, unprotected shutter wires, projector mounting screws have nothing securing them, side marker popped out, hole drilled into housing to clear too long screw.

Epoxy, and lots of it to secure rear cover on(which was hacked apart anyway) hole drilled in housings.....and then "sealed" with electrical tape

At least the drilling holes to clear screws theme was consistent

Black spray paint on the chrome, and reflector bowl mount broken and then repaired with epoxy.....and then broke again anyway

Id be willing to bet there will be review for the replacement of these eventually

Hey Maven, so I checked the place where I got my Switchback LEDs but cant find any info on what resistors to use. I bought the bulbs through 3Bspec, and the brand they sent me was "Bada Bling" I checked both 3Bspecs site and badablinghids.com, but neither have any real technical info. What size resistor did you use? Should I just try using that?

Thanks for any help!

yep, those big load resistors are what pretty much everyone uses. IIRC those are what maven uses as well, at least they look the same from the pics

yes you want the 6 ohm

This is what they show for the installation

http://a763.g.akamai.net/7/763/1644/...783296/extra/3

So you just use the resistor to jump the signal to the ground?

Yep that's how they work. They jump some of the power from the signal to the ground so the bulb gets less juice

Cool thanks. I just found a good explanation on v-leds website. So basically like you said, its just robbing some of the power to supplement the LED bulbs low draw and simulate a larger draw like a standard filament bulb. Pretty cool and easy enough. Thanks for the info!

Im hoping to have my retros by next week and Ill make sure to put up a review of everything!

Keep in mind they get extremely hot so be careful where you mount them.

I think I could find who those were built by, by going through some emails, but not feeling like flaming anybody for those..

And yes there will probably be a review... hahaha
