Just replace the tensioner, its a easy job or the dealer will charge you .5 of an hour.
Timing chain should last the life of the engine as far as Im concerned and doesnt requore replacing unless here is something wrong with it
Late models (2006)had bad chain rollers and there was a tsb out on that.

Is your car making noise all the time from the cam chain?
Just had mine replaced(tensioner) but I was getting it intermittenly on start ups once and a while and it seems to have solved the problem.
Its a inexpensive part and would change it firsts.
I will look up the tsb when I get time. And its a technical service bullitine

It takes more than half hour like previous poster said. Its not just remove and install. You will have to take the valve cover off or you wont be able to set the tensioner up = mass engine destruction. Also when you remove the tensioner your chain slack that will hang on the crank gear resulting in 1 tooth out of time, engine light on and having to now take the engine front cover off to retime it. Just saying, be prepared you gotta know what your doing. There is a new design tensioner without an oring, it is low clearance fit.
