Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

cooling fan wont turn on

cooling fan wont turn on

so about a week ago I was siting in my car right before work with the car just idleing listenbing to music and what do you know there was a loud noise and the car started violently shaking so I turn off the car and pop the hood to look for the cause and I see coolent leaking out of my radiator I had no idea what hapened so long story short one of the blades of the cooling fan came off and hit the radiator and i ended up replacing the cooling fan radiator and the condensor I finaly got everything back together but the cooling fan does not turn on evan when the coolent reaches 220 im at a loss I have replaced the relay, fuse and it still wont work any ideas what else I can try?

oh and before you ask no there are no codes

The fuse is most likely blown from when the blade stalled the motor.( jammed into the rad)

Agreed, check the fuse.

I replaced the fuse and the relay but still nothing any other ideas?

MY ground wire on my cooling fan was not connected properly and had to be rewired/grounded. My fan didn't hit my radiator though, it just stopped working one day. check the wire connections.

Pull the connector for the fan and see if you have voltage to ground on the connector using a 12v test light or a meter.(turn the car on and the aircon,this will turn the fan power on)

which car do you have
2.2 or 2.4

found the problem the grounding wire was not fully inserted into the conector, i must have yanked it lose when I removed the conector from the old fan

No Problem! Glad yours was easy to find lol Mine was a bad connection at the ground point on the motor when I got it fixed.
