Key stuck in on position! Car can't be shut off!

I was coming back from the gas station today and when I got home and parked, I couldn't shut my engine off. The key is absolutely stuck in the onn position! It will not turn to the off position. I tried unplugging the negative side of the battery and the car still wouldn't shut off. Then I unplugged the fuel pressure fuse in the engine bay to shut the car off that way and it worked. I then left the negative side of the battery unplugged as well so I wouldn't drain my battery down overnight, being that the key is in the on position. I tested the car to see if it will restart and it does, so that is good atleast. I'm taking it to GM tomorrow morning to have them look at it and hopefully get it fixed. The only problem now is that the check engine light came on, I assume from unplugging the fuel pressure fuse. I'm worried that they are going to find my tune on it now with the check engine light being illuminated. I have no idea what the cause is. Do any of you guys have any ideas? Any input would be appreciated.

You should have disconnected the postive man. The battery could ground out and as long as the positive is connected, it could still drain.

Thanks, Alleynejl. I'm going to have my buddy clear the CEL before I go to the dealer. I should have just stalled the car in 5th gear to shut it off instead of unplugging the fuel pressure fuse to shut it off. It doesn't hurt the car but atleast the CEL wouldn't have came on if I did it that way. Hopefully, they don't hook there **** up to my computer and check for a tune! I just want them to fix it, plain and simple. Nothing else! I know this issue has nothing to do with an aftermarket tune, but you guys know how some dealerships can be. They're just itching to void someones warranty.

EDIT: I just hit up McDonald's for some dinner and the CEL cleared itself. This time, I stalled the car to shut it off instead of pulling the fuel pressure fuse to shut it off. I'll keep you guys posted on what GM says about it.

I just got my car back from GM this afternoon. Everything is good now. They said that they had to replace the ignition cylinder assembly or something along those lines.
