Question stage 2 calibration

i got my stage 2 kit today.I called the dealer to make an appointment to have it installed,
but they said they could not do it until they phoned in the autherization code.they said it takes a long time to get through, and i'd have to wait a day or two for that.does this sound right?.

yea they do have to phone it in..but it doesnt take that long. when i got mine installed they fully installed everything, then called whoever to do the authorization code to download the calibration..this process took maybe 15-20 minutes....and then they went to my car and hooked up the computer and it loaded up in like 4 minutes. you just gotta be careful where you get your stage 2 done cause i called over 30 dealers and they all wanted $500+ to install, until i finally settled for a dealer in conroe, tx that did it for $240...and it took them literally over 6 hours to do it, but they did a good job and almost 10000 miles later no problems.

It all depends on GM TAC. When the dealerships tech calls in, it's like any other business. If they aren't busy they will get right through and about 15 minutes later the tech will have the VCI number to do the flash. But, if they are busy, he might have to wait for a while.

I called in on both of my balts personally. My black one it took about 10 minutes on hold. But my red one, I was on hold for over 45 minutes. Some dealerships charge for the hold time too. They will charge you for the actual install time, and however long the tech had to sit there on hold.
