fe5 to fe1 steering columnm swaps
I don't really come on here anymore, my car has become just a car to me. Paint is peeling. But my rack is making some really fucked up noises.
has anyone used a ss rack for a ls balt? I've seen people ask but all the answers I've read say they are the same, but I know they're not. cobalts came with a different rack for each grade suspension they offered. They have different part numbers at my work. And also, the steering ratio is different as is the length. (length only being 1/5 of an inch difference)
It would be cool to get a quicker steering response. The main reason I'm asking though, its 100 bucks cheaper for the fe1 rack. Seems backwards to me.
I just don't know if the spline count is the same on the shaft that would slip in the intermediate shaft.

calibrations for each car model, ls lt ss etc are different in each of the steering column computers. the hardware is the same; ss knuckle steering arms 08-10 are shorter, and the knuckle physically different along with the wheel bearing and axle. the steering racks are the same
