Rebuilding the Saab F-35 transaxle

Has anyone had luck rebuilding the Saab F-35 Trans? Does any one know of a company that may do this? What about parts source of soft goods and bearings? Buying a rebuild from GM is very costly. Just wanted to handle it myself.

Pretty sure it requires specialty tools and very strict tolerances. I'd get a shop to do it.

The problem is finding a shop that can/will do it. If I can find the bearings/tools may have to try. Have made MANY calls. If you know of any please let me know!!

Hard sound to put into words but a strange hum of a bearing going out. Here is the culprit.

Ok was it a humming that was speed related or just the same sound at any speed

Got the car all back together and in the meantime replaced the slave cylinder. Come to find out the slave cylinder is a faulty one and have to take the car apart again . because the part was not installed by a GM authorized dealer and it was by me, the warranty on the part is useless. Chevy dealer wants more to determine the part is defective (which they would never do it would always be something else's fault ) than the part is worth. all I can say my best investment I ever did was putting a lift in the garage.

It was my pinion bearing and it was wheel speed related and you have to find a shop special tools to do it. We would've done it ourselves but did not have the special tools and was told the tools to do it would not be cheap.

Was it the Lnf one or an lsj. Lnf I hear is better. Bleeding it correctly is critical to not blow it out.

Since I have an Lnf that's the one I got. it was bled properly. There was a bad batch of slave cylinders out there from what I have read and I think I got one of them :-)
