Canada arm rest rubbing seats

almost 3 months old,

the armrest when lifted up is rubbing against the side seems of both front seats(cloth),
they are showing wear already, i noticed it yesterday, i dont really want my seats ripping apart after a year

im on a 4 year lease, if i brought it back with 4 years of damage im sure they would want me to pay for it,

do you guys think the dealer will do something about this?

i have an '06 G5 GT Coupe

This happens with the armrest and likely the reason they never put them in the SS\SC. Two options.
Option 1 ask the dealer, but I doubt they will do anything except say, read option 2
Option 2 don't lift the armrest.

He's saying they DID fix it, but did a poor job so he's making them do it again, and they have to fix it. It's a design defect, whether you bought and installed the armrest yourself or it came from the factory with it doesn't matter. It's GM's armrest, and it's a defect. therefore GM is responsible for it unless you did the install wrong and they can prove it.

The other guys idiotic "option #2" might be something HE'd accept from them, but it's not true. If the device's function is causing a problem then GM should not have designed the arm rest to be lifted.

The fact that the arm rest doesn't come with the SS/SC version of the car doesn't mean **** because it can still be ordered and dealer installed. and besides that, it has nothing to do with you because you bought the pontiac version which doesn't OFFER the SS/SC (unless they do in canada) so pay Victory no heed because he is misinformed.

Nope, do now, doesn't help the OP out though does it? because he's still wondering whether he can make pontiac fix the car. Sorry for misunderstanding you.

I will add though, that if you look around here, you'll notice that service techs have refused to fix peoples cars with excuses just like that one, that made it a bit more difficult for me to discern you were kidding. :P

well im gonna make an appointment with the dealer, they gotta fix my brakes , rotors again, and the passenger window is slower,

i agree, its a design flaw, they should fix it, or do something to prevent further wear,

all without removing the arm rest, ofcourse

It's something that happens on all cobalts with the arm rest... just the way it is... not much that can be done about it.

When you go to order the armrest aftermarket, it states that it's only for LS and LT cars with automatic transmissions. This still doesn't explain why it comes in the SS NA cars, even with a manual trans.

I'd like to put this in my SS SC G85, but I'm worried about ruinin the seats and not having anything to go back on because my car isn't an LS or LT with an Auto trans.
