WATER IN TRUNK? Anyone???

So i was looking in my trunk today and in the compartment where the spare tire/battery is stored, i noticed a puddle of water..

This is not just a little puddle, it is about 1 inch deep, just to the left of and under the battery stand.

I noticed that part of the trunk carpet near the lid was a little damp. On the level above the battery.

We have had some big rain storms the last few days, and i firgure this is where the water came from. I have also noticed that when it rains inside the door frames gets water drops aswell.

i am going to assume that the water in the door frames is simply because i am used to a HONDA and the seals are better, but i am concerned about the water in the trunk.

Has anyone else noticed this mysterious water puddle?

Water shouldn't be anywhere inside your car, especially near the battery.

Check for leaky seals around the trunk or any debris that may be allowing water to trickle in...

If a Honda is so much better, get rid of the Cobalt.

if water's getting in your trunk when it rain then check your weatherstripping and possibly the little rubber seals around your tail lights(doubt it but....). Shot of there being a big hole somewhere, it's coming through the seals somewhere, just check around make sure it's not all ripped up and that it seats correctly all around.

My car went in the shop yesterday for the water leak. I had a good 2 inches in the trunk when I looked, and I have the leak right by my back passenger window. It's been in once and they said they fixed it. I took it back to the orginal dealer and they are searching for it. Only on the passenger side of my trunk was wet, so its probably from the front leak...damn it!!

When I got my car back last week, before those crazy storms thank god, they had siad my sunroof drain was blocked and thats what caused the leak, have them check that out when you take it in. I don't know how I got a rock tuck there. But it hit him in the head when he put an air hose through the drain...lol
