R1Concepts,

I would like to purchase these brakes and pads if this deal is still going on. You have a PM.

Seeing as my car is used mainly for commuting and ocassional street beatdowns, Im wondering how the POSI semimetallic pads would work for me. I absolutely hate the brake dust accumulation from the stock pads. And id trade a little bite from the stock Ferodos or Hawks for less dust and less noise. Would they work well with the rotors you have? My rear rotors are shot, AGAIN.... It sucks that a 25K econobox cant have nice rotors from the factory.

I would say the posi quiet and the Hawks will be lesser dust and noise then the originals. Dust will be improved on the posi quiet semi metallic but keep in mind this is not the Posi Quiet Ceramic pads (which will improve the dust greatly but are not available for the TC).However, the Hawks will give you much better braking power than the Posi Semi Metallics.

Would it be possible to have a TC rotor drilled for 5x114.3 instead of 5x110?

just a quick question, before i throw these on, i got the drilled and slotted rotors. the internal vanes look straight, so does it matter which direction the slots rotate? same as the way the SSTC has em on page one? or opposite like shelby mustangs have em?

^^ I have mine and haven't installed them yet (in Iraq so it makes it hard to do so lol). But how do you like them? They pretty good so far?

Yeah, fitment is great, finish is awesome. I put some disk brake quiet on the back of the pads to make sure that it will stay squeak free, burnished the pads and damn do they work.

Didn't you put the rotors on with the slots pointing in two different directions? It looks like the fronts are on way and the rears are the other way...unless I am missing something...

My rotors and pads are on and I gotta say, these are an awesome product. Great purchase FOR ALL SS T/C OWNERS.

I noticed taking apart the brakes that the front rotors and pads looked brand new while the rear rotors had massive groovage on the inside and the inside pad was absolutely GONE while the outside pad looked brand new. wtf. I think GM needs to really focus on this issue and not so much the steering, lol. I greased the sliding pins real good and hopefully this will cure the problem.

Thanks for the brakes R1concepts. You should be getting massive sales from the 08-10 Cobalt SS crowd.

yea dude, grease the sliding pins and loosen the e-brake to were it should be, (theres a howto to show you the specs) at least on most 08turbos ive seen, the ebrake was way to tight from the factory, that combined with the nongreased pins caused my grooving in the rear brakes

well I havent loosened the ebrake cable yet, I like how tight the feel is, lol. But I do agree that it could be a potential cause to the problem. do you have a link to loosening the ebrake cable I dont think Ive seen that thread before. sliding pins were super greased lol.

lol, they work great. Better than stock now that i've given them time to settle in. The E-coating is keeping most of the rust away too! Pad life isnt decreasing abnormally. and I will get pics hopefully today if I get home early! just washed the car yesterday!
