Angry Grime On the windshield!!!

My friend moved out to Alburquerque about a year ago. Her car has CAKED on grime on her windshield(sill post pictures as soon as she sends them to me). I was wonder the best way to get it off to make the windshield look brand new, or close to it. And no smart-a$$ remarks about just getting a new windshield!

Thanks

I use a mix of vinegar and dish soap water, and a bug/tar mesh sponge (got mine at WalMart for a couple bucks) and good ol' elbow grease. If you claybar, use liquid clay on the windshield with a rag. Or, to break up heavy grime, pretreat with denatured alcohol on a paper towel and then dish soap/sponge. Also, using windex and a paper towel on the wiper blade cleans off bug grime/dirt and potentially extends the life of the wipers too, didn't replace mine for a year and a half and they were still good. You can rain-x to help future cleanings go more easier, or even just put a coat of wax on the window while detailing (less permanent than rain x, and won't mess with the wipers like rain x) and you can renew it anytime. Good luck!
