i use a spray bottle of degreaser, let it sit for a moment, then take the pressure washer to it. comes out looking like new everytime. when i do a full clean on my rims i actually take engine shampoo and spray down the backside of the rims and then get down with and scrub the backside of the rims too

soap and water and then wheelwax to protect. I agree wth urmdyldo, and turbo wax make some good products no doubt, but for wheels the high strength cleaners will dull the finish over time.
after cleaning apply WheelWax ; they claim the stuff changes the surface polarity of your wheels to repel brake dust particles.

There’s a big misconception that all of the wheel cleaners will stain you wheels, although in part it's true the majority of wheel cleaners will indeed stain and damage your wheels, BUT not with our Turbo Wax Wheel Cleaner and Brightener actually cleans the wheels without acids or other harmful chemicals, some of which can and will cause spotting or peeling of the clear coat on the wheels, our formula works well on plastic wheel coverings as well. If accidentally sprayed on the vehicle finish, just wash off, no harm done, our product is PH balance and will not stain clear coats.
Product Features:
• Will NOT Stain or Damage Wheels!
• NO Acids or Harmful Chemicals!
• pH Balanced to Be Completely Harmless on Clear Coats (Will NOT Stain)
• NO Spotting or Peeling on Wheels
• Cleans and Brightens Wheels Quickly!

Be careful with aggressive cleaners on your ultraleggerras. Important is that once your wheels are nice and clean, put a layer of wax on them and the next time the brake dust will simply rinse off. A spray wax is most practical to get in all the little nooks and crannies. Also don't forget the "barrels" of your wheels (the insides). I use very aggressive brake pads on the track and have found this works wonders in offering maximum protection for my OZ wheels:

You should try the regular car clean cleaning soap you use. That usually performs very well with a sponge or cloth or rag. A good rim clean will help, too. For really tiht areas, you may want to use a brush. A little colour clean with the bristles clipped shorter performs, too.

If anyone has really stubborn **** on your rims use scrubbing bubbles. I tried multiple rim cleaners and they didn't do anything. I put scrubbing bubbles on for 5 minutes and used a scotch bright pad and it all came off in like a minute. The rims look brand new now. Didn't hurt the clear coat or paint at all. .

I've been using Poorboy's World Spray and Rinse wheel cleaner for a while now and have never had any problems. I simply spray and rinse. Even gets the brake dust off the wheel barrel.
