im confused as to why you need boost while at the line? if you are fighting traction from the launch regardless, how will that help? why do you need to watch your revs with the stock set-up, when its meant to be put to the floor and regulates it for you at around 5000? with the stock set-up, if you feather the clutch youll get decent traction and buy the time you can even shift to 2nd, wont you be at full boost anyways? i dunno, it just seems silly to buy this and wouldnt that be the reason it doesnt show it offered for the 08+ SS/tc?

do you people expect the car to work the clutch for you too?

step one: learn how to launch a car with out launch control.
step two: use the launch control to Aid in lunching the car.

don't confuse anti lag with launch control
you don't need anti lag on that tiny twin scroll turbo especially if your not running slicks, or at lest DRs

the wot box dose seem to work more like anti-lag, with its cylnder shut off and what not.
but if you already dont know how to lanch a fwd car its just gonna make things worst.
how ever the ability to adjust things sounds nice.

leve the anti lag to big turbo awd guys lol

when i said stock set-up i am talking about the factory equipped launch control as opposed to the 2-step aftermarket unit. either way, 5000rpms may seem unneccesary but if you feather the clutch it works just fine. and like i said, im sure there are drivers out there good enough to launch the car without any assistance from the factory launch control or this other box.

learning your car > buying a mod that makes no sense

Think of it as going from a stop holding the RPM at 2,000 and riding the cultch out. Yes this will ware out the clutch but at 5,000 your car will move faster off the line then at 2,000. The SS Cobalt TC has a heavy duty clutch and it can and will take this abuse. Remember NLS can be done out of Comp Mode. I've played with this at the track a lot and trust me I know what I’m talking about. I will be posting a Video soon in the "how to discussion" soon. Any Q/A PM me till then. Long story short don’t blow your money on stuff you already have.

Launch Control at the track is garbage.

What kind of 60ft's are you getting at the track?

i have a question then..i have not ever launched this car with stickies, obviously. if ppl are sayin that the factory LC revs too high and causes spin, even though boost isnt built until the clutch is let out, then how different would it be for the WOT to be at a lower rpm but with boost. plus in that small amount of time that you would be letting the clutch out with the factory setup, the boost will be full-on by the time you even get through the short first gear. so i dont see how the factory setup would be at a disadvantage. its not like its gonna bog or anything. not trying to sound like im dissing the product but i just cant see how the ability to built boost while sitting still is gonna be that much of an advantage?

i hit an instant 12 psi in my ss/sc with the box. the shop civc launches at 15psi at 9k rpms. same with the crx we have.

that second of lag can make or break a 60ft and cost you the race. also. revhigh wants to beat me at the track
lol

cool. well i cant speak from experience with stickies and by no means am i an expert at the factory launch control. i personally think that learning to drive the car with seat time would out-weight the price or putting this on a 08+ SS but thats just me. maybe someone that gets it on their cars can show some examples with timeslips or something. i am aso a firm believer that a good driver can launch this car w/o an type of assistance from either the factory or aftermarket launch controls. i, however, am not that guy. lol

So bryan you think it is neccesary to get just the lunch control and not the wot shifting because that's what I'm ordering and i'm ordering the one for the solstice or are they all the same?

I still want to know how the WOT box allows the car to build boost.

Sure, Area's SC is going to, because there is no wastegate is there (I am not well versed on superchargers). The wastegate on the TC's is computer controlled, correct? Thus, you would have to trick the computer to keep the wastegate shut to build boost on the line. Am I right?

Also, the N2MB box only allows adjustment down to 4k rpms, which is not much different than 5k rpms. I looked into one for my Z, and I considered one for my turbalt. If it could adjust lower, I would definitely consider it, if not for track use, for use on the street.

Wastegates open when there is enough pressure to over come the spring. Since the turbo will not hit full boost well sitting on a 2step, the wastegate will not open.

Ah, thanks for the clarification... I should have thought of it.

So, why do our cars not build boost normally whilst at a stop?

The way it drops cylinders creates a slight load on the engine. A load on the engine will cause the turbo to create boost.
