I think it did. More of a deep WHOOOSH sound. My Cai sounded good before, but now its definitely better now that i think about it.

It makes the car sound deeper at higher rpm and more "tuned".

for the 2.4 manifold, on a 2.2 don't you need a tune to make it work properly and not go into linp mode?

the manifold won't send you into limp mode, the 2.4L throttle body will though.

We should get that tuned out by Trifecta, but I don't think anyone has tried it.

Interesting, Would the injectors really do much.

I think the generic tunes for the 2.4 manifold can't be that great until Vinch tests one out and tweaks it to death.

So if Vince needs help I can help out in 2 weeks. or so

no the injectors wont help with power, but you will lower the duty cycle on the injectors. its pretty much usless, unless your going turbo or sc....

yeah....it's better than the #22 in the 2.2 right now.....

add in the 2.4 manifold, maybe the throttle body, and #32 injectors.....you can probably get 20-30hp N/A....added bonus....since the 2.4manifold is pretty much one solid piece and the 2.2 is two pieces glued together....get a turbo or nitrous you can run a bit more pressure through it...

yes....you would lower the duty cycle...but if you have injectors in hand and installed.....with a tune in hand (considering you are getting more airflow into the engine) make them run like say 26 or so.....

it would be good for me since i'm currently building my turbo setup right now....

Vince must have to do a lot of work on Cobalts. Sounds like a good business.

i just got my PCV seal today for my 2.4 manifold....so i will be installing it soon...with lots of pics and may even do a how too on it...then take a short video on how it sounds along with the acceleration that comes with it.....all with out a CAI....with the stock air plenum minus the air silencer box located in the bumper/fender well on the passenger side....should be interesting....when i get around to it any way....

but keep in mind that i also did a quick porting/polishing on the throttle body (which makes for less turbulent air flow) and that also aided in acceleration by a couple tenths of a second....just enough to notice and also gives it a better throaty sound.....

and if anybody on here experiences the horrible P0223 code (TPS/Pedal position sensor circuit B High Input code...i can tell you how to fix that in like 10 minutes without dropping 405.79 on a new throttle body....it happened to me last week putting the car into limp mode....i opened it up and saw that the contacts on the sensor were not touching the mag surface so i fixed it....so i can help do that....dealership told me that it would take 4 days to repair (3days shipping for the TB and one day to put it on).....but i fixed it in a total of 45 minutes...

This is for an 07 LS though....pics in the gallery of what the car looks like so far....w/o the mani installed

Is it true that the 2.4 intake manifold just shifts the power upwards?
In other words there is some loss on the low and possible mids?

Anytime you are adding bigger diameter piping to 'free up' power usually you are adding to top end and taking a slight amount from the bottom.

The L61's powerband peaks at like 4800...which is pushrod v8 territory.

It can use a little breathing room up top.
