We already had a contest going for the designs. We just have to pick the winners and get things going.

Anyone know good places to make *****? We will not sell these shirts for profit. Just for our members to help get the word out.

Also, I don’t think we can be “official”. GM is “official” and I can see some legal issues there.

Keep the ideas going.

 

I do have a printer in town that I am friends with.. I think I may have told you JonelZ. But it's going to cost us to get them done... I dont know how much.. If I know my printer he is going to ask for details, like what kind of shirt, how do we want it printed on.. Stuff like that.... Give me a call, or E-mail me JonelZ... I think this is something we should talk over the phone on!.... Toooo many details.....

What about something like I have in my signature.... I mean the car is sleek, and stylish... and it does somewhat have that sexy/mystirous look to it...!!! ???

Gm could be a supporter of the site but we would have to approach them. It is not unusual for someone to do this. BUT by doing this we may open the site up to censorship by GM

I think if we went with this approach, we wait till GM puts out its performance parts division (like that of Mopar for the SRT's) that way we could get "semi-sponsorship" from GM by advertising their parts, heck we could get a parts store going if theyd allow the site to be a reseller. This way they couldn't regulate what's said, just help out with either sales, site development who knows. I have a feeling this place could be much better than SRT-forums in time

Having the site sell parts would be conflict of interest. The site is already supported by outside vendors who sell parts. If they site were to open it's own store them it would conflict with the already exsistant supporters. Plus it would be lame like the other cobalt site that I wont speak off .

there is no problem with GM supporting the site if the intention of the site is to promote the car, performance developement of the car, and good communication between cobalt and future cobalt owners. This will help GM as well, since it is free ad for the car, and its the best type of ad WORD OF MOUTH !

Our shop does art work for a t-shirt printer and can maybe get a better price on shirts but I will need info about what is wanted to get a price. We can do the artwork he needs so thats not a prob. We do need to have a design. Just let me know.

 

shirts, hoodies, toques etc are a great idea

however,

silkscreening would wear out in time, would it not be better if we embroidered logos?

Why not give the Premium Members a discount rate on the T-Shirt when they sign up? This way you can use discounted prices of Cobaltss.net merchandise as another way of enticing them to sign up.

Other ideas for merchandise could be koozies, mouse pads, hoodies, camisoles, hats, etc.

 

Its a good idea, but it will get expensive. Why not start with silkscreening until this site really "takes off."

If the shirt is black and a medium I'll buy it. Even a long sleve wouldnt be bad.

I think having "club" t-shirts or site t-shirts would be an awesome idea!! My friend has a 240sx and I know he's got something like that for a site he's registered with... keep me updated on what's going on with that, I'm definately in!

 

From what i've seen most places like this claim a sloggan like "your un-official source for the chevy cobalt" un-official is better it means you dont have to say what GM wants you to
