Thumbs up Loaded Cobalt LS Pics

I love it in red! $19,545. Notice the XM antenna. Wish it was red!

Nice pics, JonelZ.

Not a fan of the red, I like black myself, but looks good. Just needs a sunroof.

Why do I see three antennas on that? There is the XM antenna above the back window. The regular FM radio antenna next to the trunk. But what is that third antenna above the windsheild?

I wonder what one might expect to pay for an LS sedan with no optional equipment except an automatic.

Just got a Black One

JonelZ,

I got your email, thx!

I purchased a Black Colbalt LS Sport Sedan. Interior is the same as what is
posted here. But the Black looks totally badassed. One hour after I
picked it up it was at CarWorx getting the windows tinted.
Now it looks totally evil !!!

I'll get some pics together soon and post them.
The great thing was I got the car for $15, 700.00
on the road. Great deal. I went back to the guy I
bought my Cavalier from in 1998. I put 209K on that
car.

The one thing I really can't find an answer to is:
If the car has the CD/MP3 player system installed.
Can it be upgraded to XM? I noticed another car
had the Xm already and the radio were the same
neither my car or the red one that had the XM had
the Pioneer 7 speaker system in them.
From what I know on Xm, I take it all it needs is the
antenna and the blackbox module then the
display should come through the present radio
that is in my car. Does anyone know the answer on this?

Thanks!

Dominic

2005 Chevrolet 1AL69 - Cobalt: LS Sedan
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VIN / Order # Event Code MSRP
1G1AL52F057530860 $17,335

91U Arrival Blue Metallic Primary Color
14C Gray Sport Cloth Trim
1SA 1SA Option Package
L61 ENGINE GAS, 4 CYL, 2.2L, MFI, ALUM, DOHC
MX0 Transmission, 4 Speed Automatic
1SZ DISCOUNT OPTION PACKAGE
FE9 Federal Emissions
NW7 Traction Control- Powertrain Management
SLM Stock Order Identifier

This one has the Traction Control which I would suggest no matter where you live unless of course you plan on never driving in the rain/gravel/snow/humidity >80% etc.

This one also has federal emissions, emission standards in parts of New England (NY, NJ also) and California are different.

Rebates in my area are $750 & active military (which is dumb because if you're active military you don't have time to be shopping for a car)

There's only about $800 in markup in that particular car, so don't be expecting a whole lot off.

Need anything else? Refer to my post in here: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums//showthread.php?t=1073

Or just let me know.

Yo, I've got some bad news for you.

First off, the 7 speaker system that everybody is talking about is only on the SS/SC model.

Second, the stereo in your car is not programmed to accept XM or display the input from XM. They're made to look like XM equipped radios, but it's totally different behind there. XM is one of those things where it's just about an option on every GM car/truck/van/suv now, so just because another car had it and it looked like the same radio, it's not gonna be the same.

If you want XM, then your best bet is to get that new handheld device with the car mounting kit. It runs through an FM modulator so it's not terribly difficult to hook up. The best part IMO is that you can take it with you and listen to XM wherever, not just in your car or house.

Hope this helps.

I ordered the 7 speaker setup for my LS. So it isn't just in the SS S/C.

Correct, that was my mistake.

The 7 speaker system is standard only on the SS/SC Cobalt.

Sorry about that, and thanks for pointing it out.
