So I test drove a 09 SUMMIT WHITE SS/TC!
Yes, you read that right, a Summit White SS/TC.
I was getting my oil changed today at the dealership and walked into the show room. Just for a little bit of background, the Chevy dealership I go to is one of the top dealerships in the nation and is usually the first ones to receive new cars. This is the same place where Jonel test drove the SS/TC many months ago.
Ok, side story over, I walked in and wanted to see if they even had a SS/TC there and sitting right smack in the middle of the showroom floor is this:
1. I was shocked to see it right there
2. It was white
3. It was the first 09 this side of the Mississippi I believe, not sure if that's right though or not.
The car was put on order 2 months ago from the dealership and arrived just yesterday. I was the first one to get to drive it!
Overall, the car is fantastic to drive. Good power, no lift shift is SWEET, and the suspension and handling is awesome...although I had to test that in a way I didn't want to. Some lady tried to merge into me and I gassed it passed her to avoid the collision otherwise it would have happened. The sales manager that was with me almost shat himself...and I probably would have to if I was in that situation with that new of a car.
So yeah, that's my story, just glad to report that the Summit White SS/TC is a go it looks like! Go order yours now!

Sadly, I do not have more pics. These were taken with my camera phone and the really crappy part was I had JUST taken my camera out of the truck right before going to the dealership. If you guys want, I can try to make it out there tomorrow for more pics.
No, it did not have the new display system.

Someone near Bakersfield, CA needs to go pick this up! If I didn't already have the other Cobalt, I'd HIGHLY consider getting this. Even now though I'm thinking I might want a daily driver once I get to Florida....hmmm.....

So.... did it have the RPD display when you test drove it or not? Thats all I care about... rest of it is same as 08s.... more or less. I am excited as all hell about this unit.
I wouldn't get any 2009 SS Balt without an RPD... I feel bad for peeps that don't get this or buy an off-the-lot 2009 later this fall that doesn't have it. Just like I felt bad for peeps getting the 08s without the LSD.
P.S. - White is a cool color. But why is everyone going ape **** over it? Did I miss something? I mean, I know GM didn't offer it.. Is it just because peeps been waiting on it for years for balts?
