Slow-selling Saturn Ion gets mid-course correction

As for Saturn, I wish that they or Buick disappeared before Olds did. I liked Olds a lot.

I agree about Saturn, I really don't like them. I had a lady come in to trade an '02 SL, and black book values showed the worst depreciation I've seen on anything. J cars hold up much better, which is scary given that Saturn has no haggle pricing.
yeah i agree, the interior of the cobalt looks so much cleaner and has more options. I believe the SRT-4 is basically the same interior as a neon just has a lot more umph to it. The cobalts interior is Be-yoo-ti-full
my opinion
Well I would get a SRT-4 but i cant, and wont. , Period
Reason one, my parents both are GM employees, ie i never get a car made by non union, foreign or by a competitor.
Reason two, Have you ever seen a 2 door SRT-4?
who wants a 4 door tuner? it just does not look appealing to me.
Reason three, The Wing on the thing suxs, where does dodge come up with their designs, did someone look at the super market and see a shopping cart and go, wow i think the neon needs a a spoiler so people can push em when they break down/fall apart.
Reason four, The Cobalt.

I was just thinking about that the other day. The Cobalt SS is gonna be so much more stylish.

dont get me wrong, i see where you are comming from. My parents have never bought anything outside of GM other than a Ford van which cought on fire due to electrical follys and my brothers and my frod probe(same car) which had the tranny go about 3 times. I just think GM can do a little better. Other than that, i rahter put a little more money down on a WRX than i would a RedLine or Cobalt SS.
I used to really like Evo's, but now that they've been out for a while growing reliability issues (clutch for example) make it less and less appealing. Not to mention the fact that Mitsu is falling closer and closer to going out of business and the recent defect cover up scandals they've had. I like the WRX, it's a pretty well made car but I'm starting to see quite a bit around now. I only like the car in blue, and it seems like everyone else has the same opinion, it's the only colour I ever see.
Anyways, back to Saturn's revisions... I see that GM wants to spread developement cost over two divisions with the Redline and Cobalt SS S/C, but seriously... SATURN??? I know GM's habit of rebadging everything sucks, and they are gettting away from that by using two completely different bodies that aren't even sold by the same dealers, but in my opinion Saturn sucks and the Redline is a$$ ugly. Plastic panels, center speedo... ugh!! Oh well, the Cobalt will at least be the volume seller so maybe GM will allow Chevy to throw in goodies like an LSD, higher power, 6-speed etc. after a couple of years.

But getting back to GM. I could have really seen more power in the Redline and the Cobalt SS. When i heard of S/C Eco engine i thought of the cavalier tunner that was stolen. I forgot the name but it was that orange coupe. That thing was so awsome. But i saw the numbers those cars were putting out, 263 SC Sedan was the nicest one they had in number of power gains. I was looking foward to something like that. Then i hear all it is is a 205hp, 5 speed ion with a small body kit and a goofie looking wing. Im sure the cobalt will look bigger but we will have to wait and see how they perform when they come out.
