Here's my wording from my other thread I was gonna make..

By the way.. If you're on dial-up.. I'd go bake a pizza while waiting for this thread.. It's gonna be a good-un..

----------------

Well, here it is.. After much planning and anticipation, the morning finally arrived. After getting to bed at 2am, 6am came up pretty quick.. However, the thought of such a huge meet quickly got me out of bed. I swung by McDonald's and met up with SpecSlo in Robinson.. We then rode out to Beaver to meet up with PimpLay2 and rode out from there. We were a couple minutes late to the mini-meet and just rode out to the plant straight from the then emptied-out Wal Mart lot.. The sight of seeing so many Cobalts, not to mention enthusiasts was insane. It was really cool to see some HHR's and a few Ion's / G5's there as well.. There were some VERY nice cars there, however the definate quote of the tour was "Damn I wish it didn't rain yesterday because my car is filthy." This quote resulted in several members (including myself) cleaning their car after the actual tour it's self while hanging out in the parking lot.. The tour was awesome. We got the usual safety video along with passouts of these goofy sleeved glove things and a pair of safety glasses. After we all looked like dorks, we made our way into the plant. We were first greeted by the GLORIOUS sight of a brand-spankin'-new white Turbo SS. All I can say is "DAMN DO I WANT ONE!!" Then throughout the tour we saw all sorts of body pieces being assembled, as well as a large assortment of scattered around LNF motors and t/c wheels. Unfortunately all of the doors were locked, so (to my knowledge) unfortunately there were no free Brembo calipers, LNF motors, or t/c wheels removed from the plant. haha. But honestly, it was a super awesome sight to see. The employees were all very nice and welcoming, and that's not bad at all. Then the free meal was quite good. A full spread of picnic food and drinks were had by all. Afterwards, a few scattered groups hung around, but basically everyone began to leave. We left after a little bit of hangin' around, and basically beat any possible weather. All in all, it was a VERY awesome time. I want to thank everyone responsible for setting this up, as well as everyone at the plant for using their hands to manufacture a great car. A big thanks goes to my riding friends, PimpLay2 and SpecSlo, who were both super awesome, as well as everyone else who attended. Hopefully we'll do it again next year..

But without any more blabbing.. On with the pics..

Honestly, you'll only get limited pics now.. Alot of members went to Cedar Point / Summit / a football game after.. But you'll get alot more later / tomorrow I'd assume.. I'll keep editing my first post with my pics.. I was gonna have them be in order, but the Photobucket was being ornery.. But you'll get the idea..

By the way.. One of the best quotes of the trip came from the one guy who was guiding our tour.. He is the guy in the group picture above where we're walking. To the far right. We were joking around saying how they should race them out back. I asked him if they ever did anything like that. He said "Let's just say we could've told you how fast it was before Motor Trend did." hahahahahaha

The factory is very large. We got an info page too.. I'll post up some figures.. Quite astounding..

We also saw 5 lug Lt's, a 4 door G5, and several 4 door t/c's. Another new color was shown hidden away.. The deep royal blue metallic. Very nice as well..

In above, notice the silver G5 sedan, as well as the blue t/c in the prep-room picture..

That engine in the picture is an LNF. There were t/c parts everywhere. lol. God the things I could've done with a U-Haul and 10 minutes..

If I didn't get a picture of your car, don't be pissed. We got there a touch later, and I could only get os many before we went in.. So don't shoot.. lol.

Once again.. A totally amazing time.. And I surely hope we get invited back next year..!

The G5 (s/c..? lol) was really sweet with all of those panels.. I wonder if one will be made..

It was weird too because the sedan G5 had silver trim instead of the c/f looking stuff..

But yes.. Between me, Pimp, and Spec, let's just say we could've helped out a few people on the forum.. As well as ourselves..

There seemed to have been a pretty even split between sedans and coupes being made.. I was very surprised at how many blacks I DIDN'T see being made.. lol.

Derrick,

You work fast with the pictures!! (Which are excellent btw!!!) : That tour was a blast along with the drive up. It was great finally meeting everyone and putting faces to all the (screen)names.

And yes....the white t/c with the red interior was absolutely sex. Almost as sexy as the sport red tint coats!

I actually would've had them up sooner but I was putsing in the garage, then had issues with Photobucket..

But I did what I could for our .NET homies who couldn't go.. And to relive it for those who did!

Also.. If anyone would like a larger version of any pics, lemme know. I cannot give full sized ones to everyone, however if there's a special pic you'd like of the line or of your car, lemme know and i'll do what I can.

I believe I see a sticky in the near future.. lol.

By the way.. The motion pics in the car were with a Nikon S51 point. The stationary ones were with a Nikon D60 SLR. I'm available for photography at weddings, office parties, car shows..

Kidding. But no really.. I hope you all like the pics.. I have a handful more that I'll go through and post later probably.. But those ones give you the basic breakdown..

To my knowledge, Photobucket has never done that to me.. But good tip. I'll have to keep that in mind..
