Need a picture of vibrant d/p

I need a pic of a vibrant 2.5 high d/p (not the vibrant website one) to compare mine to to see if something's wrong.

I had made a thread about this before but I got the exhaust and lining everything up before I put it on I'm starting to think the flange is off. I had to get a new cat welded on so this is why I'm worried.

Thx for the pics augie, I'm thinking if I get pics with the two bung hole that it will pretty much determine whether or not it's lined up or not.

you're not wrong, it's not going to fit. the top flange where the downpipe bolts to the header, the top bolt points straight up. the flange that connects to the exhaust should be going left to right. yours looks like it's at some funky angle.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing, I think it's too off for even the flex pipe to make up for it.

I need some more pics cause I'm gunna call the guy tomorrow.

I didn't think this would get any hits being in pics and videos area mainly because people post pics of their cars there, this is more of a problem.

the lower flange should run perpindicular (SP?? WTF) to the ground. that flange looks like it's at LEAST at a 45* angle. my bet is that it's not even close to fitting.

i've told you i think 3 times so far that it's not going to work. not sure what other kind of answer you're looking for.

it's going to need to be re-welded at the correct angle. unless the picture is that far off, in which case no one can tell you without seeing it in person.

Here is a quick ps of what it shoudl look like. the line going right down the middle of the dp shows that both flanges are off, top and bottom. the one shooting off the left shows the totally wrong angle of the lower flange. the one across the flange itself shows an approximation of where it should be. pic is uploading

The flange on the catback should rotate freely to match the downpipe

I know, I'm almost positive your right. I was just hoping to get a pic with the bung holes this way I could bring it with me to show.

Hm, good point, do you know if the area where the exhaust would be accessable for tightening the bolts.

If you can jack the car up the the bolts where the downpipe meets the catback are easily accessable. Should be 15mm

The top bolt where the header/dp meet is a PITA

the flange on the catback does not rotate freely. with the amount of room and little amount of play between the secondary 02 sensor and the underside of the car it's not going to be possible to rotate in the direction it needs to go. and even if it did fit, it would put a TON of unneeded stress on the flex pipe. and the cat-back (if stock) won't move at all, and if it's aftermarket 2 piece assembly it won't line up properly if it's bent to that angle.

the proper way to do it, and the way that will avoid problems down the road is to just have it re-welded properly.

I promise you that the flange does rotate. I was just under my car yesterday.
and you dont rotate the whole downpipe. Thats the point of the flange being able to rotate to adjust to the holes on the downpipe. The downpipe cant be rotated anyway because once its bolted up to the header its not moving.

B/c its not. The flange on the downpipe is welded. The flange that has to meet up with it on the catback rotates. How could they both be welded and line up every time.

I think I know what your saying, the section with the resonator, it's straight so it should rotate to fit. I think however, if it was done improperly then I rather have it fixed seeing I paid for the weld. I'm sure the guy will honor it, just hate the drive out there lol.
