I'm split...I don't care for cops too much, but on the other hand, if some dude tried to run me over, I'd be pretty raw about it

They should definitely be fired. The dude almost died crashing the car, he looked unconscious, and was not a threat to anyone at that point.

I think they took it a little far, but the guy had something coming to him for blatantly trying to run down a cop. He's lucky they didn't just shoot him at that point.

He did try to hit a cop with his van but still he was knocked out already and cops are supposed to be professional. Beating an unconscious man even though he was fleeing is not right IMHO. They are setting a bad example for all other cops very unprofessional in my book.

takes a pretty big man to try and hit an undefended human being with a 2-3 ton vehicle as well

The guy did deserve to get beat. But not like that, i can see if he was running away or holding a bat or a weapon then i could see them beating his ass, but not when the guy totally flys out of the van and hits the ground hardd like that. Cops need to learn self control, but it is hard to keep sane when this crap happens, let him rot in jail for a long time. not give him some bruises and cuts that last for a few months.
