and was that the setup you cracked you piston on? but you spun then hooked and bogged correct? Also how muchboost were you seeing on just the 2.8? Ive seen 19.2 at WOT in the top of third at the track
Correct, I was also running full stage 2 timing when that happened, which I shouldn't have been. I didn't have access to my HPT for a couple months to back it back down after some diagnostic checks, and it cost me a motor.

I was about 17-18 psi tops, I had some pretty decent port work and full cooling done though.

Boost + nitrous is a winner, every time. It has a superior intercooling effect, as the nitrous is something like -150 degrees when it hits the air stream. On our cars, with such poor compressor efficency, the gains from the added cooling make for a much better power gain from a given shot size, although that gain doesn't really increase as shot size climbs. Assume a '50' shot gives you 65whp gain, a '75' shot will gain about 85whp, not 100.

It's never too much boost, but at a certain point you start to have to trade off more timing to run the larger shots than the extra power is worth. Start with a smallish, 30hp shot or so, tune accordingly. If everything is manageable, bump it up one or two jet sizes at a time, re-tune for it, and stop when you are having trouble finding traction in 3rd or you stop gaining power.
