8 to 10 pis with what kind of flow. A 16g does not flow the same amount of air at 8 psi as a GT47. I hate how people define power by PSI.

A good turbo for you would be GT2876r. Its a nice midframe turbo should be able to provide over 300 whp if wanted but can be more conservative used if desired.

check out the forced induction threads/stickies. Theres pretty good explanations on picking turbo sizes. What do you want, a small, quick spooling turbo that'll peak fast, or a big, slower spooler?

Keep in mind though that for a fixed system, 8psi is 8psi as long as the temperature of the air is equal.

I agree that a GT28 would be probably about the size you will want.

you've never heard of a GT28 before? Thats one of the most popular 4 banger turbos out there. GT2860 and GT2871.

Its a good one. Whats your budget though? A newer borg-warner turbo would be very nice, though i imagine theyre a little on the pricey side. Also, I imagine a K03 or K04 would be a good one for low power levels and maintaining a quick spool (as the LNF demonstrates)

I have one of those in my closet! It's for a future M52 swapped E30 BMW build my good friend is doing. Hopefully we can get that monster to spool! I like 700-800whp in a gutted 2100 pound car. Tire smoke is fun! lol

Sorry, back to the thread.

Id say for streetable power in a FWD car. you dont need much more than 300-350hp

Thats why i said the GT2871r (56 trim)

Unless I'm way off my rocker in which case help me out. lol

but bigger turbos are more efficient compressors, and the air charge will be significantly cooler, meaning a pretty different power number is possible with the same PSI.

Otherwise, yes, you're correct
