What do you guys think?

Well just like the title says, what do you guys think of my little project? Built a little paint booth in the garage, and went to town, just letting them cure for a few days before I throw them back on.

If you don't mind could you tell me what paint you used? And what steps did you do to paint them?

1.rough up entire face of wheel with 320-400 grit abrasive pad
2.degrease with final wipe solvent(X2 just to make sure thewy are clean)
3. paint -3 coats
4.clear -4 coats
5.after cured (about a week i'll probly wait 2)wet sand with 1500-2000 sandpaper
6.polish with rubbing compound
7.wax
I dont even know the brand of paint i went to a local auto body supply shop and got custom cans made up

I didn't need primer because they are already painted and cleared from the factory, same paint and clear as on the body, as long as you prep the surface properly it will stick as good as any primer. I would have primed if i would have sanded down to the bare metal.

QFT.

I have a boat load of experience with painting, both powder coating and liquid with pot gun and aerosol. As long as you prep the surface properly, as he did, your paint should be good. Especially with 4 coats of clear.

Looks good bruh. I'm gonna do a dark gunmetal powder coat on mine when my car shows up.

If I knew how well most paints hold up on wheels, I'd definitely paint my wheels gun metal like I wanted...seeing as they will not be on the car this winter anyway.

They look awesome Chad! You already got black housing headlights and tinted tails? Not wasting any time i see!

Oh wait, on second look, it doesn't look like tinted tails. Am i seeing black headlight housings too? Is it time to get my eyes checked?

Ok, so the paint might hold up ok.

I don't want to take the tires off the wheels, so could I just mask the tire and paint the rim without having any real problems?
