lowering springs for the ss/sc
Go to gravanatuning.com. They have two or three set ups available: Eibach sport and race, and H&R sport. Personally I will be going with the H&R sports, the Eibachs by my experience with other cars is a little rough. You may want to also check out the sway bar upgrade that Eibach has. It's a must with the spring upgraden for me. The sway bars will help keep the car level and nuetral in hard cornering. So with the combination of the springs, for lower center of gravity and sway bars the SS will be unstoppable.
Good luck

I wouldn't say that it "kills" it, but I doubt it would help. THe strut front suspension makes lowering it very iffy for performance. Plus, I cannot even tell you guys how many hours went in to tuning this suspension. The car handles beautifully at the track and I love it.
Wait how will lowering it make the handling worse? I dont know much about suspension and all but isnt it that the lower the car the lower the center of gravity and intern the better the handling.
Also a drop isnt usually done for handling anyway, (in a real world situation) most people dont push the car that extreme, we neither have the skill or ***** (in some cases) to take the car to its limits. Drops are for aesthetics, it looks incredible lower to the ground!

To an extent but when the car comes low it was usually designed so that it is already at its peak lowering...
example...
a lowering kit for the stock cobalt would prob drop it about 2"
the SS is prob already that much lower if not more....

Official word from Eibach is that the "SS" is lowered 1/2" from the factory. This means that the 1.5" drop springs will only drop an "SS" 1" more than factory or to the same level as a base or LS model with the same lowering springs. So "Yes" they will fit all three models.
We carry both Eibach and H&R.

Nope...not with those front struts. If you hog out the upper strut bolt then you can really adjust the camber. The toe isn't an issue and caster is not adjustable. You must be used to Hondas or something...
And yes, the handling is very dependant on suspension geometry, so lowering it will make a big difference. Do a bit of reading and you'll run across this.

dude DO NOT buy cheap springs! i would not buy anything other than H&R personally, after the last set i had. it made my ride so bad ass i didn't even need a sway bar. so it saved me money in the long run. the eibachs... can't tell you about them, other than they do alot of marketing, so of course they are going to sell more. but again, stay away from knock off springs, but if you do get them, you might want to get an air-ride seat to compensate for your car's crappy, bouncey ride down the highway lol

Hey man, can you so much for leading me the right way. Now im just gona get the H&R no more than that!
Here's a pic of my old cavalier on the Eibach Sportlines. In my opinion it was a perfect drop and the ride quality was great in my opinion. My worry is that with the ss the sportlines will drop it too low to where the fender well is in question since the ss is that much lower from the factory. The back has a sh_tload of drop, but the front is questionable. I want to order a drop asap, im probably going to go with RKSPORT'S coilovers. That way I can set it EXACTLY where I want it.

I agree Eibach makes great springs. I had pro-kits on my camaro before i got rid of it for my SS. They made the car handle and stop 10X's better. The only problem i noticed was the stock dampers didn't last as long. So i recommend replacing them at the same time as the springs and buying nice and strong ones.
