Talking 2003 SVTF - 2000 SVT Lightning

These pictures are old, and the camera is weird. Sometimes the Red looks Orange, but I asure you it's not. Both front grills on the Focus have been changed, the top is body color, the bottom in wire mesh. The Lightning has had several engine mods saince the picture, I need a new one, it looks so much better under thier now.

Well, let me know what you think.

I WANT AN F150 LIGHTNING! I always have since I first saw one on the dealer lot when my parents got their 2001 windstar.

That focus MUST be putting down some damn good numbers with the aftercooler and charger. I miss the way my old ride used to whistle like crazy at idle

Good job!!

Damn those focus' are hideous. Cool that you made it fast and set it up properly though. The lightning is bad ass. ******* hillbilly 13 second trucks lol Only truck that you can hog tie a pig throw in the back and then run a 13.5 in 1/4 with it.

Love the L. They are awesome trucks. Not bashing on the focus but correct me if im wrong, even tho it has the Vortech on it...im pretty sure they are still dissapointing. Only like 210hp up from 170. I think the compression ratio is to high to make reliable boosted power....

Not a big fan of the focus but the lightning is coo.

What do they run?

The focus would be pushin 250-270 @ 10 so probly close to 280-300hp @ 13. Depends if you have a cooler or not. Either way I hope you got a good deal on the vortec.

Well, the numbers you typed are common for a SVTF with the Jackson Racing SuperCharger, and the Big Boost Kit. The stock Vortech at 8-9psi commenly puts down 240whp. I put down 299whp and 258wtq. Remember guys, it's not how much boost your running, it's the amount, and the lower temp of air you can flow through the intake and still optimize your air/fuel ratio.

As far as mods and times, just click the link in my sig.

Thanks guys for the comments, even from the guys that hate the Focus. Don't worrie, I did too until I bought on and boosted it. lol Ugly little cars huh? Naaa, I think mine looks pretty sharp. Pluss it'll out handle pretty much anything out thier, and will run some pretty respectable times in the 1320 as well. Never dissapointing that's for sure. And the compression ratio, as long as your tuned right, makes it all the better. 16psi is the max limit on a very well tuned SVTF. Thier are guys running 18+, but that's stupid if you ask me. You can blow a rod on N/A with the wrong tune. It's all in the tune guys. And that's what I do.

Yea, like I said, these pictures are old. The grill on the Focus is now body matched up top, and wire mesh down low. But thanks again.

just a question.. I love what you have done to your car and think and real nice and all.. but if you have 299whp and your car only weighs 2750 shouldnt you be doing a lot better than 13.4? I could be wrong but I thought a cobalt ss with a 2.6 or 2.5 making about 276whp and weighing about 2900 plus driver weight or so did a 12.something.. but yea that was my question.. anyways nice car!

another thing..you guys have to remember that the svt focus was designed for autox not straight line accleration..even the man himself turbo tom could barely hit the 12.99 mark with 330whp he had on his turbo svt

No new pictures yet, some day though.
The times I ran were on street tires, on a T&T with no track prep in 90*F. I'm not complaining. I know that with some DR or slicks, I'll be in the 12.s.

Thank God. I was preparing to rip you a new one...

I always liked the SVT Focus. How does it handle? I'd love to get one and fit one of those Focus RS front ends on one.
