Is it a burned CD?? If it is, that probably the issue.
Burned CD's are not always compatible with all CD players, and sometimes they won't even recognize that there is a CD in the drive. Try playing a regular store bought CD and see if it has the same problem.
Chances are it won't - but if it does, take it into the dealer ASAP

It just could be possible that the CD player has a dirty lense in there. The whole unit uses lenses and lasers to detect media in the unit. If it has a hard time reading the cd it may not eject. Just my opinon.
Either way, take it to the dealership. They should be able to fix that. It's there radio.

I would hope that it's not dirty already. I think it's just a bad unit. The dealer should replace it, no problem. One of my wheels had a paint drip along the edge of one of the spokes. Not really noticable but it's right by the gas cap so I notice it every time I fill up. I showed to my dealer and they ordered me a brand new wheel. Got it in and put it on for me in 5 days. A malfunctioning cd player is a bit more critical and covered under the bumper to bumper warranty anyways.

I had the same problem with the no ejecting thing, it was mainly with regular cds and not burnt ones. but for some reason it doesn't do it anymore. The dealership told me that if i had on allot of accessories like the AC on bust it might be drawing allot of the power. but the problem just went away and my car is about 5 months old now so i figured it was a new car thing.

Is it the base unit radio? Does it sometimes display "LOCK" about 10-20 seconds after starting your car?
Mine does as have many others I've read here and GM knows about the problem. My dealership has ordered the next model up radio to replace mine.

I work at a chevy dealership and i can tell you that the stock radios are terrible on all gm vehicles. we replace a few a week. Most common problems are the error messages or the cds not ejecting. Just bring it to the dealer and they'll order a new one for you, should be about a week or so. I've seen a brand new radio out of the box not work. shows how great radios these are.

I've been waiting a few weeks for the radio to come in, so it isn't done yet.
I told them that GM knows about the problem with the base radio and to please check with them about it. I told them if they were just going to replace it with the same unit, don't bother as the new unit will do the same thing and waste their time and mine.

Hi all,
Newbie here. Got the Cobalt last week, and today I got this "error" message, and the Cd refusing to come out. Displayed "No CD". Thought it was just the cold (-12 C). Drove 15 minutes, pulled into a store, came back out, started the car and the Cd popped out. Works fine.
From all your problems, I will be going to my dealer tomorrow to get a new deck! I need my music!!!!
Nice Forum, by the way. Lots of helpful stuff.
