Just thought I'd share...

Car was running hot (225-230), and it was 113 during the run... I suspect that the ECU was retarding the timing. On a cooler day (below 100) w/ a cooler car (below 200) I should have no problem hitting 400whp.

This was with roughly 25psi boost w/ a GT30 turbo.

My SRT-4 might be just a tad quicker than most SS's

BTW, I'm thinking about hitting Firebird tomorrow night, if anyone is interested in tagging along.

lol 376 is much larger than cobalt's 210+ I agree, but run against a Stage 3 Audi S4.

My point being, there is always a faster car

No doubt.

This should be enough, with slicks, for me to get into the high 11's -- that's pretty quick for a daily driver

Def some impressive numbers though. Good luck, 11's are a hard number to break into.

I like the gloating about being about to burn a stock SS..But that's cool though. I'd have an ego too if I had a 400hp 4 banger

BTW, a friend of mine is getting a 10psi Procharger kit put on his '96 stang GT (stock motor). he says he'll race ANYTHING! And that AMP performance guaranteed him 390whp with the kit. yea right! No ******* way is he gonna get a 200hp increase on a stock motor with only 10 psi..oh well..can't talk to V8 guys about anything.

Well I figure an SRT-4 guy can't come on to a Cobalt forum without talking at least a little smack

And even with the power I'm putting down now, I know I'm still at the bottom when it come to real street-car performance. There are a TON of cars out there that are WAY quicker. There's a Street Legal Twin Turbo '68/69 Camaro I've seen around here that runs on Methanol and does the 1/4 in the 8's. I don't think there will ever be a FWD Street Legal car capable of consistant 8's.

I wouldn't be so sure about a FWD running consistant 8's. It's possible, just need a large enough bankroll to invest and some smart people helping to tune the car.

and my friend's 65 SS chevelle (daily driver) that runs 10.90's all motor and high 9's on the bottle. Of course his 502 cubic inches helps but he has a ton of fun playing with cobras and vettes.

I redyno'd on Race gas... 485whp from a 60mph roll, I'd probably be a pretty close match up against that Chevelle (off the bottle, of course). From a dig, RWD traction owns FWD.
