Bump, would love to see more info on who has ported blowers. Speaking of which, do you think the dealer would notice a ported blower haha.

You can porth the throtle body but I geusse there is a problem with dimaneling the electronic throtle. The problem is it's just about impossable. So it's hard to do it right and there is little benifit.

I belive SMG autosports was working on a ported throtle body for us but they couldn't get around the electric throtle.

I have a ported blower also, used a dremel tool with a bunch of bits, and smoothed it all out, great free mod.

The dealer can't tell its ported, obviously, unless they have to take it off.

If you have an intake, it will scream like a BANSHEE........a fricken' BANSHEE!

I have one, Gilbert, SRT-Killer, Blown-4Banger, and Kate(Psykostevo Red) All have them, and I am doing Balls-outs soon.

You can expect about a 15* drop in IAT2 temps, and a TON more air volume. Do not do it unless you have HP Tuners it will throw off your MAF and VE tables so bad! I think Blown 4 Banger gained 3lbs of boost and 15* IAT2 drop.

It is easy to do, but remember.....you only get one shot at it! And it takes 2-3 hours and about 12 bits (if you're lucky)

If you already have a dremel this will be a nearly free mod.

Here is what the Ported Blower Job sounds like on the 338hp Cobalt :-)

When I said BANSHEE I meant BANSHEE!

http://media.putfile.com/Cobalt-Sound

If you find yourself watching that video over and over.........time to port your blower too!

Off topic but I have seen good gains on an LS2 from TB porting and I think the 2.0 TB is in worse shape. Oh and the LS2 TB is also "drive by wire", I need to buy one and give it a whirl.

yeah, Fred Jr. had my throttle body out of my ss/sc looking at it and measuring and whatnot. still not sure how we are going to get that apart to do a bore. Looks like the cap on the actual mechanism is a pressed on aluminum cap. He will probably have to remove/destroy the cap to get all the internals out and either find new press on caps like the factory, or find a bolt on solution. It might take a while but i believe he can do it.

His ported TB's for the 2.2 eco are bad ass tho!

It would be cool if he would use my car more to develop more prototype stuff for us LSJ guys. I would love to be able to help out our community more!
