how much of a diff would there be with stock and sportlins w/ these and sportlines

yes, the front is a cartridge insert. you have to cut and gut the stock strut to install the Koni cartridge.

Really tho, its not as hard as everyone thinks it is. Just takes a little time. Its worth it when you consider the ride these struts give you.

I'm interested I just don't understand or have the knowledge on what they do exactly. Does this allow you to lower your car without extra stress on the struts/shocks?

For that amount of money, I don't like the idea of having to gut your stock struts. Why not just make a direct replacement? What happens if you want to go back to stock? Your pretty much screwed.

 

These replace your stock struts, and allow you to lower your vehicle safely. Aftermarket struts handle better and give you an overall better ride. They are basically a MUST when using lowering springs or coilovers.

To lower a vehicle you need to use a coilover kit or lowering springs. Along with those you want to add in a set of aftermarket struts meant for your new lower stance.

I agree with you, but I don't make em... Koni had stuck with what they did in the past with other vehicle applications when they designed these.

 

Thanks, once I get my rims I think I'll be all over this. *crosses my fingers* Waiting on a vendor to get back to me about the rims. I'll keep an eye on this thread. Maybe I'll get the strut/shocks combo and some sportlines. Should be a good combo.

Anyone have instructions for intstall that they can post? Or is there already a 'how to' that I missed?

I ask because I read that some small cutting may be required or is that false?

If I was to buy the struts and a set of springs.. would I be able to assemble them out of the car and swap the stock crap out and put the strut/spring combos in place?? Looking for something I can swap out during the winter so I dont plow snow even more

oldsskool - The way the front struts work, you would not be able to just swap in/swap out easily when you wanted. If you wanted to do that, you would have to grab an extra set of stock front struts to get the lower mount. The new Koni strut is mounted in that stock lower mount.

If you did that you could then swap them in/out.

vextc05 - If you order at the $550 price and the #s make it past the 12, then you'll get the refund back to get the higher discounted price.

you have to assemble the fronts, there's detailed instructions im sure

the rears are direct replacments

 

When you get a coil over system. Would these be a great choice to go with a aftermarket coil over set up? Or is a coil over set up fine on its own. Basicly I'm looking for the best way to lower your car and make things ride correctly including the way parts will be worn.
