so i go into the local chevy dealer on aug 15 (ish) and tell them i want a new car, cobalt i was thinking. after talking with the dealer a little, we honed down options, price, blah blah blah. it took him a long time to try to find what i was wanting, and eventually he came back and said they dont have what i want. BUT, they do have a 2006 cobalt coupe ss non sc. it was black/black like i wanted, stick like i wanted, and had every option on the board. i said sure, ill take it. i left the dealership with it.

then i come on here and i start reading threads like, "how long you been waiting? i been waiting 5 months" or "what number are you on the list?" etc... is there really a waiting list for the SScoupe nonSC? was my situation an anomoly? should i not have been able to walk in and out the same day with this car?

 

people waiting for theirs to be built from factory to their specs ... it happend that the one on your lot was the same as you would have ordered but say you wanted a different colour or no sunroof ect you may have had to had one built ..taking several weeks

 

ok that was the only thing i could think of. good to know.

 

When I got my SS/SC people were walking into dealers and picking up an SS/SC off the lot about two weeks before I got my SS/SC and I ordered mine Sept 2004 (so I had been waiting like 6 months at that point)...
