Not happy.

I may be wrong about this stuff, but I read the "2008 Cobalt SS Turbocharged Page" located at the top.

No 6 speed???? 5300 RL???? Going from the picture, ugly rims, lip kit is gone, and absoluetly no differences.

I do like the fact that it has better suspension and brakes, and the "no lift shift" and it has stabili track and all that who ha, but that just comes as a bigger price.

I don't think I will be getting this...I am a little dissappointed and think they could have done better. Just my thoughts

My thoughts, I will wait to see if Chevy decides to throw in some option packages. I was really hoping to see an SS hood and a slightly different look, and better looking wheels. We will just have to wait and see. I didn't really like the lack of options for the cobalt anyway, but I hope they have more options, then I MIGHT consider it.

Yeah, I agree that the rims SUCK ASS from what I have seen. I hope these are just an example because they look like shitty Cavi rims.

I hope and pray that there is an option for the same 18" 5-spokes you could get with the SS/SC because I think they're way nicer.

I don't know why some want a 6 speed so much. I am no engineer but I know many factors go into designing a tranny for a car. I am sure there is a reason.

I do like the Brembo's as well though. I guess you have to drive one and see if you fall in love with the car.

Its just that our top speed is limited by the gears. I know I will never go to 130mph or whatever, but its just the fact that the tranny cant keep up with the engine.

I honestly don't think its worth it. i mean .4 seconds faster in the 1/4? with all that negative equity? there is practically NO difference in the SS S/C and the SS T/C. I won't be gettin the t/c. I will probably get my buddy to hook me up with some interior stuff, and then wait for word about the TVS.

Well the MSRP for a SS S/C was what like 21K? Add the stability control and all that stuff, and the "no lift shift" and the fact that its got more hp and tq...I would expect a 24-25K MSRP. meaning after its all said and done, you'll be paying around 27k...not for me.

This car is going to be very nice to upgrade. I'm keeping my SS/SC because I like what I have and its exactly what I wanted. I have way to much time invested to trade it in or even sell it. My cobalt is like a member of my family. I take good care of her and I will find a way to gain respect with a SS/SC version.

On another note, I wonder if we can use the Brembo Brakes, and return fuel rail system on our cars. That is a very good improvement on the SS/TC.

^ Yea I guess I was wrong. I posted about maybe the SS/SC can use the return fuel system but I just seen it has a returnless. That is something they did not improve on. =(
As for the brakes, would be real nice if the SS/SC could use what the SS/TC comes stock. Those Brembo's I can't wait to see.

Comming from an LS guy, i will be getting one. Even more attractive is that it will come in a 4 door which is what i want, ive always had 2 door cars and im done with them. 4 door turbo is calling my name!

As far as the rims go if they suck ill just find some s/c rims to swap on...

I think those pictures of just of the SEMA Cobalt SS. Those are GM Accesories wheels aren't they?

They'll probably end up using those nice ten spokes, and I'm sure the lip will be back.

If not, they are idiots.

Whats with the anti 5 speed talk? These engines dont really need a 6 speed. They have an really large power band. A car like the Civic Si Needs a 6 speed becuase it needs to stay in the top end. The LNF doesn't, look at the dyno. Yeah a 6 speed would be cool and it could only improve the car, but the cost it would add to engineer it in and license one would drive the price of this car up unnecessarily.

I have just one thing to chime in on here... but if you claim to have read the whole article then you would have noticed that they say the front grill will have a plastic mesh grill (similar to the HHR SS presumably).

Looking at the pictures provided, it does not have this grill. Also, the lip kit NOT gone.. you just have bad eyes... finally, those rims are the customer order 18" rims you can get right now from GMPP, they are not the rims that will ship with the SS/TC....

nuff said.

MODERATORS ARE DELETING LNF THREADS, GET THE PICTURE

From the way I read it, and correct me if I'm wrong but with the "no lift shift feature" does that mean a taller first gear? Here is the quote "With its balanced tuning, the Cobalt SS delivers a quick 0-60 time of approximately 5.7 seconds – thanks to the manual transmission’s “no-lift shift” feature –" I would hope it does, cause first sucks right now

No-Lift-Shift means you don't have to lift your foot off the gas pedal when shifting. There's probably some sensor on the clutch pedal that tells the ECM when the clutch is depressed, then holds the RPM's, or drops them accordingly.
