you've been to the track before, so im sure you dont need tips......but anyway...

my first time out i ran a 12.3 1000ft. my second time to the track i ran an 11.6 on my first pass. take it easy the first few times before you give it hell. again, good luck man.

Sweet, now we can get some actual numbers for you, not just videos that the SRT guys say are rigged. Good luck.

I did alright, my first run was a frkn 16 flat, spinning all the way through 2nd. The second run was a 14.6, third run was a 15.0 against a Yellow SS (he also has run a 14.2 in his SS on a previous night, showed me the slip). I was going to leave, but my friend w/ his SRT-4 wanted to stay so I decided to let the car cool down.....Then I got my best time, a 14.1 launching @ 1.5k rpms w/ a 2.0! 60ft! (dropped my tire pressure to 23lbs). My last run was a 14.6 I missed third gear.

Here's my best run:

Also, I got my car weighed in. With me in it it was 3010lbs, I'm 245lbs, and that was on an empty tank...The interesting thing is my buddy weighed in his SRT-4 on an empty tank, he's shorter than I am and weighs a little less....came out to 3040lbs....so I dunno about this mumbo jumbo about our cars being heavier.

congrats on your new best. that's pretty quick! but one thing, your times are very inconsistent. i bet it is the launch. you definitely need to try to keep doing the same thing over and over again. with a 14.1 you should at least be consistently in the low 14s. 14.2/14.3 over and over again would be nice. just a thought!

Yeah exactly, I tried several different launching methods. from 2.5-3k easing off the clutch, to going off idle, and finally 1.5k which worked out the best for me. Also, I tried power-shifting and then just "normal" shifting. Power-shifting definitely helped out.

sounds like your 1500 rpm miracle launch and the powershifting is a good method. stick with it.

another thing to consider. i always do a base line for the night. not a shitty run, just not giving the car it's all. i'll launch pretty decent and then not power shift. that's just to get a baseline for the night and then improve upon that.

He was probably stock. They only weigh 100-200lbs.(depending on model) more then the WRX with the same drivetrain.

Way to go Tofu! Great time!

Last I remember your mods were K&N intake and Strut Bar. Other than that are you stock? Oh, do you have the LSD?

Once again great job, I think that's the best 60' I've seen on stock rubber.

Congrats. That is an awesome time!

What options does your car have? Sunroof, xm, side airbags? These add weight, that's why I'm asking.

Thanks guys, I don't have XM, the G85 package, side airbags (I think?) or a sun-roof. The Yellow SS that was out there has run a 14.2 w/ the sunroof and XM package however!

The '06 WRX's got the 2.5L like the STi, but the Forrester 2.5XT has had it for a couple years. The early ones had only "210hp", but were capable of 13.7's with great driving even with the weight of a wagon. Truth is, they certainly had more power than the 2.0L 227hp hp WRX of the same years.

Sweet cars... one of the best sleepers around. The last few years they were kinda aggressive looking, for a wagon, with the hood scoop and the dark "angry" looking headlights, but for some reason, they went totally wimpy with the new facelift.

Old (w/ STi Hood Scoop)... looks like it will eat you and store your remains in the hatch

New... looks like it will hold your hand while skipping around and planting daisies

__________

BTW, nice times. You should do a how to on how you launched that thing since it seems most people are lucky to get 2.3 60's with the SS so far.

Nice time man! How in the world did you get a 2.0 60ft? I thought you were running a slick or drag radial? I didn't know the stock Pirelles could hand that good of a launch? I ran a 14.30@99.89mph with a 2.2 60ft. but the tire pressure was a 35psi....What is the best psi for the stock tires too run at when drag racing? Colin
