POLL: War Stories Section Removal
Mod team has been talking about the possibility of removing the war stories section on the site. This section has been around since I've been here and wouldn't doubt it's been here since the beginning. Over the years it has been the a big reason for trolls to come to our site and defend their respective vehicles. Street racing is not only unsafe but illegal. I can already see the outcome of the poll but I hope I'm proven wrong here. What do you members think? Should we get rid of the War Stories section and not allow any further posting of street races? Keep this thread civil and give your opinion. The poll will be open for 5 days. Thanks.

Thank you. I always thought street racing was idiotic, and it damn near killed my best friend (not involved but hit by someone who was). I know a lot of people want to talk about dyno days and track days and things like that, so why not just have a general area where you can talk about track times, autocross, stuff like that.

yes street racing is illegal, but people don't go out and do it because of the section on this site. I'm sure they don't go, "Sweet...an SRT4 can't wait to put this on css.net" ya know? Plus, deleting will prolly just make people post their "war stories" in the The Lounge or something. I like reading the war stories. Its nice to see what these 4 bangers can do...

To a certain extent.
Street racing has been around since the start, when hot rod guys were building cars 50 years ago, it's always gonna be around as long internal combustion engine vehicles are here. I strongly believe everyone has raced on the street before at one time or another. I think the section should stay it's fun to read what our cars stand against. If you don't agree with street racing stay out of the section, easy fix.

If the members vote to remove it we will make a rule no street racing threads allowed. So, if they do start posting in the lounge area they will get a swift kick to their *****.

I say keep it. Most of it IS BS or turns in to random e-fighting and deleting it wouldn't be a bad idea, but if you delete that section, then it'll definitely spill over to other sections of the forum (General, Lounge, etc) and clutter up more of the forum.
As for the suggestion of deleting the Lounge. Same pretty much goes for there too. If you delete that, the random threads won't stop, they'll just start in other spots. And every now and then the Lounge does come up with some good stuff, same as War Stories.
Just my .02

i enjoy reading alot of the pointless threads in the war stories and the lounge.
the last thing id like to see if this site turn into basically a gm build guide. at that point it feels less like a forum and id rather just go pull out my build books. but if your seeking out pointless sections then you might as well go after all the scams by deleting the for sale section and might as well tank the ability to create your own sigs since people could effectively fabricate their mods lists and what not.
i say keep the sections and just make sure to heavily itterate that if you dont agree with the section, stay out of it and maybe start slamming the ban hammer down on those who dont wish to comply.
we all know street racing is bad but it gets a little old when your just trying to read on one to get some lulz or just kill some time and you have to filter through the people climbing in there to preach that street racing kills.
my .02 cents
