Can you just swap the entire rear beam of a 09 tc into an 06? This just seems easier with less fab involved. I am sick of not being able to find a good rim for my car, (even though though the enkeis above look great.) Everyone has them tho.

The 09's have the same exact lug pattern as the 06's.
I'm sincerely confused by this post

is this possible to do on an ls model? or is it easier to just do the sc brake conversion? I have two sets of rims from my old car that have the 114.3/110 bolt pattern (i think the 110, i had a 99 galant which used the 114.3 pattern). i it safe to assume that the smaller pattern is the 110x5?

It's probably 5x100, not 110. Best bet would be to measure it. Sure, i guess you could do this on an LS, but you have a great lug pattern already, i see no reason to bother with a swap.

Due to the amount of PM's i am recieving about how i will be mounting the 19" Axis Super Hiros, with their 5x114.3 Lug pattern on my 06 Cobalt SS, I am releasing the information on my full hub swap and brake conversion.
The brakes do not need to be converted, but i chose to go that route because, well, better brakes can never be overlooked.
I will post pictures as the build continues, and do a full How-To
SPECIAL THANKS TO JOHN AT POWELL MOTORSPORTS, AND BRAD(MAVEN) FOR HIS AWESOME GENUINE GM PARTS. NOT TO MENTION BOTH FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING SUPPORT OF MY RELATIVE IGNORANCE
SCOPE:
Ok, i got sick and tired of the cruddy selection of attractive wheels for our factory 5x110. Actually, i didn't find ANY that I liked, so i decided to swap to 5x114.3, which is one of the most common 5 lug hub patterns. I remembered hearing someplace that the Grand Am Time Attack Cobalts were all running a 5x114.3 Grand Am hub conversion. I got into contact with the Powell Motorsports crew that was responsible for building the Time Attack cars for GMPerformanceDivision back in 05. We discussed the multiple angles with which we could approach this situation, and ended up settling on Grand Am hubs. These hubs, along with an LNF Brembo front brake conversion, and LNF knuckles and axles (which are considerably stronger that the production LSJ versions) make up the front hub conversion. The rear consists of a modified rear TWB, with an adjustable chromoly sway bar, transplanted from the Time Attack car, and revised end plates for the rear hubs.
Also included in this build are the OTTPerfomance CnC'd "Rotato Potato" mounts as i like to call them and OTTPerformance steering rack shims.
Also, there will be stainless steel braided brake lines all around (Also from OTT)

Did you read any of that post?
We looked into re-drilling the hubs, but there are reinforcement points behind the stock lugs, and the rest of the hub is fairly thin. Powell decided it wasn't safe to drill there, so we went with the full rear axle.

I didnt say hubs I said rotors unless I wrote it be mistake. What 114 hub works with the stock ss tc setup ? Sorry if I didnt make myself clear. I want to run 17 inch slicks up front. Ill use adapters in the back. I would rather not run adapters with the slicks for durability reasons.
