And the pro kit is usually just springs. So you could/should do the FE5 shocks and struts with the either pro-kit/pedders/LNF stock springs.
In order of cost (lowest to highest)
LNF springs (used)
Pro kit (100-250 (189 with modern) used to new)
Pedders (whatever they go for on CED or one of the other vendors)
Even the LNF springs will lower your car. Remember the stock LNF springs/struts/shocks made the LNF cobalt one of the best handling sport compacts out there. So even those stock pieces are a bit upgrade from the Rental car FE1 suspension.

Also depending on which springs you go with it would be advisable to switch the front sway bar endlinks. (also FE5 parts) But you might be able to get by with the FE1/FE3 endlinks just fine (I used them a week until I got my moog FE5 endlinks).

my struts and shocks are actually good but when i go over speed bumps i hear a creak sound like on a mattress so obviously you would think thats my springs right? cause when your effin you hear that kind of noise on a mattress and theyre probably at 70k so its about that time huh

the FE5 springs would lower the car. Shocks and struts really dont lower these cars.

Beyond that it would be advisable to get the FE5 endlinks (moogs from Carquest/Napa are a good price and better than stock)

That would work. But look into the pro kit from modern. They will be similar in price. Or you can look on here for a used pro kit (think DOTDOM?) has a set of used ones hes selling.

Its been a while since I put them on.
Just ask for "Front sway bar endlinks for a 2007 Cobalt SS 2.0 supercharged" If your unsure if they are the right ones Ask them to bring out the front swaybar endlinks for a 2007 Cobalt LS 2.2. If the supercharged ones are shorter its the real deal and what you would need.
Think they were like 60 bux. Plus they are fittings on them for grease and are much thicker and stronger than stock. My stock ones I was able to flex with my hands. Imagine what that does for response and handling

Whichever is shorter.... the FE5 links are shorter and the ones you need.

I'm starting to get into the autox events so I'm looking into a better setup and replace my struts and shocks with Koni's/Pedders.

He has a SS/SC not the SS/NA which has FE3 shocks. The SS/TC and SS/FE shocks/struts are labeled FE5 but the SS/TC shocks/struts are a redesigned version which is better. So it's Koni (which I have and absolutely love) > FE5 (LNF) >FE5 (LSJ) > FE3 > FE1. Also now I'd rate the springs YYZ (what I have and once again love) > FE5 (LNF) = SSC.
Also I highly recommend a rear swaybar, I personally have a PRP hardcore bar.

I hate to beat a dead horse but these fe5 struts will fit an 07 ss/na with out any mods? And I can use my original springs? The reason I ask is one of my front struts just blew and I just want to replace the fronts only and keep the same springs. Is this ok?
