Smile Struts and Shocks

I am wondering if there are any non adjustable struts and shocks for use on lowered vehicles. Konis are way out of my price range and I figure non adjustable will be a bit less expensive. Any advice?

So the stock LNF parts hold up well? KYB said their G series is not meant for lowered cars?

Why not get rear konis and front lnf? Thats the way im running atm since it takes a bit more work to install the fronts since they are inserts.

New information reveals that the FE5 suspension is in fact not lower..........Is this correct?

The FE5 is completely reworked from the FE3. Not necessarily much lower, but the rates are all updated for the LSJ and then again for the LNF.

General rule of thumb is that struts and shocks are only designed for a set amount of travel, and that any time you lower the spring height, you reduce that travel. Coilovers are the only true way to maintain properly shock travel while lowering you ride. That being said, acdelco FE5 replacement struts and shocks are your best bet as an upgrade which they sell on rockauto.com . Just be sure to consider how low you are going, as even the FE5 struts can only handle so much lowering before the travel is reduced to the point where the strut becomes useless and ride quality suffers. All struts and shocks on cobalts are of exactly the same height and have exactly the same amounts of travel. Im sure powell would argue that the YYZ springs are probably the minimum recommended amount of lowering while maintaining acceptable travel of the shock/strut, and he would be right.
