How many miles are too many miles to get tuned?

My car is sitting at 116k miles right now. I've been contemplating getting it tuned for a long time but never got around to it.
In 2011, I had a K&N cold air intake installed on it. That was before I found out about the "learn down system."
Anyway, would I have to worry about reliability issues if I tuned my Cobalt SS/TC with 116k+ miles?

Go for the tune. Change plugs, clean valves, and maybe replace the clutch. You'll be fine.

I have 100k on mine and I wanted to do the same.. I guess as long as you took care of the car and do some extra maintenance it should be fine.

get a conservative tune if your worried about longevity. as long as you don't beat the **** out of it, it should be fine.

De gunkify the intake valves and you're good.

Tune it and go. Don't worry about the valves unless you're having issues you think could be related.

Extra maintenance? All I do is coolant/tranny/spark plugs every 75,000km. Been that way for both ecotec's I've owned. Oh and air filter change whenever it starts looking grimy.

Aren't you the guy that made the thread about how this is the worst car ever and you don't have the money to fix anything on it?

Yes, but after taking care of all the issues, it's driving well again. Running pretty well right now.
I figure I'm stuck with the car anyway, so if tuning it won't be harmful at high mileage, I'd like to do it.

Looking back it's pretty funny. I figured out all the issues because of the cool members on this site with loads of info + How To threads.
It's been over 2 months since I made that thread and the car is a completely new beast. It's back to driving how it did when I first bought it, albeit needs new shocks & struts.
