Tuning steps
I have a stock 06 SS but I a box go fast parts waiting... like a 2.8 pulley, 60 dekas & harness, long tube header w/ cat and a muffler and an HPTuners unit. I have modest goals of 260whp, or whatever is capable without requiring meth.
I have some education to do with HPTuners still so my thinking is do these mods in stages.
1) Try to correct MAF tune for the airbox mod to clear intermittent CEL
2) Install header/muffler and retune
3) If no CEL, install the 60's and pray I get the corrections and ratios right
4) If all is peachy, install 2.8 pulley and run some tests
For monitoring I want to do a center dash cluster with an Innovate W/B and an interceptor to monitor IATs in real time. That all seem like a good plan of action??
Last question is about cooling! There are A LOT of opinions in the 5000 threads that discuss H/E's and dual pass setups. This is my DD so it doesn't get romped too much, just a 2nd-3rd pull here or there and probably never back to back pulls. Is the dual pass opt.B still considered the best starting point, or is adding a 2nd front mount in the grill an equal reduction in temps? People have vastly different opinions on cooling mods but for modest goals I was thinking the dual pass would be good. But any and all suggestions would be helpful before I tear into this thing. Thanks in advance!

I bought the HPT Pro unit used. I'm assuming the config file would be unique to each car/vin? I need to find some paperwork on this thing before I break something!
