stock 09 cobalt ss VS 96ish dodge cummins

Today there was a guy in front of me in a cummins blowing smoke on my car out of his stack. Revving it trying to intimidate me or something . Well I got an opening on onsection of road with 2 lanes in my direction. He punched it (I guess wanted to keep me behind) I down shifted to second going about 40mph and blew by him. Passed him up a hill. Got about 4 or 5 cars on him then had to slow for when the lanes merged into one. Well, I think I earned his respect cause when I turned off he "beep beeped" at me and I gave a thumbs up. It was a pretty nice truck.

Also I know a truck isn't a racecar.. but people around here lift them, put stacks on them, and think they are rscecars. They race at like every light lol

Sorry for the crappy pic, was trying to drive at the same time lol. I took the picture because he has a "hybrid" logo below the 4x4 sticker lol. It was a fun time though.

I had one guy in his lifted Duramax yell to me " SEE YA" as he punched it.

The only thing he seen was my taillights. then he wouldn't look at me.

I feel like a lot of guys who have diesel pickups are cocky. I had a guy in a lifted 08 gas silver ado yell don't even try it when we were at a red light. I don't understand why they think their a bad ass because their truck can blow black smoke. Don't get me wrong I like diesel trucks and they can make serious power but damn if it don't make country kids heads big lol

it takes some serious money to make them as fast as our cars.

Yeah cause they're meant for towing and hauling and stuff. They have power but it's not for speed. An 18 wheeler has power too, but are they as fast as a racecar? Nope. They just don't understand that lol. They CAN be fast.. but so can an electric scooter if you put enough cash in to it

I had a buddy of mine with a new RAM 1500 with the 5.7L HEMI argue about how it would do against my car, a Boss 302.. he said he knows I would win but it would be close. I told him he would feel like he were standing still but he wasn't convinced. I told him a newer manual V6 Mustang (2011+) would take him but he wouldn't have it.. lol. I love trucks with a good ole' American V8 but some people just don't get that they aren't built for speed.

Who races trucks? maybe it's just me but I think they're more suited for towing and work related stuff/hauling winter weather etc; just doesn't really make sense to me

Need to find the same jackass and race him with the ZFR on E-35. Even roasting them off from 0-80 MPH you will still yank the **** out of him

Your car is a testament to how tough these cars are. Stock clutch, stock engine, stock trans 100K miles and most of them running high boost tunes and IIRC your valves are clean at 100K miles. Get a GMPP clutch for now and a Powell 4.45 if you ever manage to toast your stock trans.

I thought so too! 9 out of 10 ppl where I live that have diesel trucks don't tow ****, I guess they love shitty has mileage. They just like to roll "coal" that's it. But seriously every kid i know that has a diesel doesn't tow a damn thing. Why would you wanna fill and 38 gallon tank up, that cost what? $130? I'll pass on that. Specially as DD

Right. That and for some reason girls get too pumped about guys and lifted trucks. I've witnessed some good looking girls get with a guy just because he had a nice truck. I'll pull up at a light and a girl won't look over but when I'm with my brother in his lifted cummins they start drooling lol

Yeah I know. I see a lot of them too in our area but they don't usually try to instigate a race. Come to think of it nobody does really.
