I needed to use a piece of paper to verify that there was clearance - and thath te paper wouldn't catch/drag on any spot of the caliper - it's just that close.
Even with those rims, I'd suggest a 3mm spacer.

I really like these wheels. I think they would look great on my sedan. How was the fit on the lugs? Being that its a different bolt pattern it didn't seem like it was in a bind or anything? I found these wheel for under $400 shipped. My only hesitation is the fact that they are 5x112.
I think I have posted a pic before in this thread but here is one of the SS/NA wheels with no spacers and no clearance issues.

With "microscopic" clearance of wheel to rotor, I would run a 3mm spacer too. When you are at speed vs resting, hot vs. cold, turning, side load deflection, etc. I would be worried there could be moments the microscopic becomes zero.
As for the 5x112, I personally would only run 5x110 on a car made for 5x110. 2mm might not seem like much, but you want the lugs to all seat uniformly and concentrically into the lug holes on the wheel with equal torque - same with the whole wheel to the hub. Under the dynamic conditions above, you don't know what would happen if it was just a hair off. Driving to the grocery store may be okay. Maybe not. I wouldn't want to find out.

I have a feeling that this microscopic clearance issue is what most oems run... my old mustang had less than 1mm between the back of the 17" bullets and the two piston cobra caliper on a 13" rotor and that was an oem package.

1 mm is .040", or about a spark plug gap. I guess if the mustang came from the factory that way, it must be okay for Ford, but personally, I would still run a thin spacer on any car that was that tight to give me a little more room.
I may be paranoid, but I have run over gum wrappers that are thicker. Suppose one got wedged in there, caused the wheel to lock up, and put me into a tail spin at 8 mph in the 7-11 parking lot?

The gum wrapper was a metaphor. A 18 pound wheel being spun by a 3000 pound car would shred the gum wrapper without hesitation. I was saying even with a new factory stock car/wheel, if the clearance was only 1 mm I would run a spacer. Probably a waste of time, but as I said, I am paranoid.
