Is anyone using Ion Redline wheels? I know someone said they were tight but who has used or currently is using them? Any pictures or feed back? I am looking for some winter wheels and I am a cheap Fu#k!

Old thread I found with a pic: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/part...wheels-221731/

I had a thought this morning. Would widened steel wheels clear the brembos. If spacers would work on steel wheel then I am starting to think widened steel wheels might work maybe even 16". I am going to make a few calls just to see if it would be cost effective. Let me know what u think.

I'm sure a set of widened steel wheels could work - the question is, what kind of brakes are you going to use to replace your 12.5" rotors and brembo calipers with?

The person you are referring to is running spacers

And this dude DBR is saying he test fited the ion redlines and is saying they don't clear the brembos.

His tread is here page 2 near the bottom
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/part...04/index2.html

I am Not seeing confirmation of anyone running ion redline wheels with no spacers on brembos. I have someone who wants to sell me a set with snow tires I need to know for sure if they fit. I know what the first page says but who is running these with no spacers?

ill be hoping for a post back to see if they fit. i might be picking a set up of the chrome redline wheels on tuesday.

even if i have to run a spacer up front,it wont bother me. i can atleast save the TC wheels for summer and not have them get f'ed up by winter.

Unfortunately I can't get in touch with the Guy I was goingto purchase the wheels from so I will not be able to do the test fit. I'm not opposed to a small spacer, I'm not gonna be doing any auto x or hard cornering in these wheel so i don't think it will be a problem. I talked to that Guy DBR who test fitted a set of IRL wheels and he said that he had 2 lugnuts snug and the wheels were hitting the brakes. He runs autox so wheels spacers weren't an option. His car was an 09 mine is an 08. With all the difference in opinions on wether they fit or not I wanted to see if they did in person in hope that Maybe there is a slight difference between the 08 and the 09. But oh well now I need to find another set of something quick
