Just an FYI on new 17x8 Wheels...

Thought some of you might want to know. I found these on Discount Tire Direct. Good price too! The only question is will they clear Brembos?

They should fit over brembos seeing as they are a +40 or +42 offset.

This
I lik the look, knock off wheels cheep that dont look too bad.
I was thinking about getting some for summer wheels and wider summer tires and turning my stock wheels into winter wheels/tire setup. but I dont want to spend 700+ on summer wheels.

And I thought the same thing wert842 They should fit but i wanted to see if anyone had done it and could verify.

Discount tire is running a $50 saving on the R20s right now. I damaged the hell out of my winter rims last year (bent 3 of them) which will cost me at least $300 to have repaired. I can get 4 of these for a tick more. I am really debating picking up a set in 17" for this coming winter.

You might need to visit discounttire.com first and punch in your zipcode. They work fine for me.

If you pull the trigger on these NickD let me know how they wrap around the brembos. I may be getting a set next spring or over the winter as a cheap summer wheel to wrap summer tires on so my winter tires can finally take a break.

I ordered them about 2 hours ago actually. The tires I want on them are on backorder so I should have them in 2 weeks. I'll test fit them when I get them and take some pictures.

Yeah, I definitely want the 17"s for my winter rims. I got them from discount tire. Wasn't too bad, pretty cheap. They are also running a $50 rebate on them. So they're $346 shipped. I had tires and valve stems tacked on.

So these came in today while I was at work:

I have two of these mounted with tires as well. I didn't open them up yet. Tomorrow I will jack the car up and test fit these to make sure everything clears. I'll post more pictures once I do that.

Thats a good deal only thing that drive me nuts is the multiple bolt pattern alot of those cheaper wheels have. Id take a set of those for some slicks if they clear the calipers.

I test fitted one rim. It fit fine and clears the brembos by a good 1/3" if not more:

I did notice they are not hubcentric, so I will need to order rims. Also, the lugs don't fit. The lug is the exact size of the hole, meaning I can't get a socket on it. So I will need to order a set of lugs.

Here's a few more pictures:

And the packaging from Discount Tire with a tire mounted on the rim:

Wow for the money those look pretty good! Majority of the time when you go with an aftermarket wheel you have to use tuner lug nuts...you can get a decent set for about $20 on eBay.

I had a set of Borbets before this and they accepted the factory lugs just fine. Not a big deal to pick up a set of lugs and hubcentric rings. I'm not in a rush to get these on the car. I generally put them on in mid December.

I won't be putting them on until winter nears. Hopefully not until mid-December.

Sure, I just got plastic hubcentric rings off ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/331286904188?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The R20s hub is 73.1mm and the Cobalt is 65.1mm. They also sell aluminum ones for double the price. I had plastic on my other set of winter rims and they worked just fine. I had aluminum ones on rims I had for another car and all they ended up doing was slicing my fingers whenever they got stuck to the hub and I tried taking them off to replace the rotors.
