That is what I paid for all four of mine brand new. It's nice having a hookup on sticky tires.

That's crazy! You can get Hoosier R6's in our size here for less than that!
You'll love the NT-01's. I can't wait for my set of NT05's to run out so I can get a second set of NT01's on my stock wheels

You should consider heat cycling them. If there's not a place that can do it off the car, here's a great article that describes how you can do it yourself. All you need is a deserted road (unless you have a race track handy) and get some good heat in the tires by accelerating, hard braking (and I like to slalom as well lol)

I found that it really makes a difference once the tires get to half-tread.

thanks buddy, looks like a good write up. anything i can do to have more traction and longevity out of a set of tires is a huge win for me.

$400 a piece is crazy even for that size. Local places quoted me around $300 per tire, with the lowest being $280. So I had to order them online and saved nearly $400 total.

The NT01's are pretty similar and I have heard great things about them as well. I'm still vey amazed with the longevity of the R888's.

I took my car out this weekend since it got decent out (45*F and sunny), and I had the car on 25 lbs around 540-550whp, and even in the cool temps it hooked really well. 3rd hooked from any speed, and 2nd still had a lot of forward movement while doing its usual spinning. I was impressed with the performance even in colder weather.

just curious, has anyone ran anything like infra's setup and/or power level on a road course ?

i am just curious as to what kind of hook up tires would have once some turning is thrown into the mix.

I'm guessing with his power you'd need to run full slicks. I track my car and on NT01's it has trouble with traction coming out of turns in 2nd gear unless the asphalt temperature is up there (80-90 degrees). My power level is in my sig below, although I only run 20psi at the track.

i was pretty upset because i really wanted to get these but if you add it all up
400x4-tires
25x4-mount/balance
20x4-tire recycle fee(gay)
with 12% sales tax brings me to a total of.....1993.60 for a 4 tires

You really don't want as much power as he puts down in a fwd car on a road course because you will have to pedal the car in the corners too much.

Yeah I don't think it would be fun on a competitive road course. I'd put the suspension and wheels/tires on my 300whp M62 car and have a riot lol

You would have problems with overheating more than with having too much power. Ask me how I know ;-)

Well I don't have a road course anywhere near me to even get that opportunity, so I guess I don't have to worry about that lol

I have zero interest in autox. Especially around here, the courses are so small. In little parking lots and ****.

Yeah, especially in small course auto-x a big turbo is a handicap.
Besides, it doesn't even come close to the thrill of braking from 140mph into a 90 degree turn

I wouldn't race this car in a road course or autox anyways. I have 2 other Redline's with stock blowers if I wanted to do that lol

AutoX is only fun if you have a stock car. Simple mods puts you in classes of cars that you can't compete with.

See that's the beauty of open lapping on a road course: In an econobox with mods you can compete with McLarens and Porsches

I have experienced that first hand at Road America with my SS/SC and especially my Abarth. Had a guy in a 400whp WS6 TA that wanted me to do a lead follow for him so he could get the race line down. I told him to after a few laps that I would let him pass me but that never happened. Even after the long straights he could not catch me in my almost stock Abarth.

Did you compare these to any other 245 treadwith tires? I have heard these run wide, and my 245 s-drives barely fit my setup on a 9" wheel. I think the s-drives run wide as well because my 245 is pretty square on the 9", where a lot of other brands show a bit of stretch.

Is there any way you can get a total width of the mounted tire/wheel combo next time you have them off the car? Total as in if you lay the tire down flat on the ground, and measure to the highest point. I would appreciate it.

These are the first 245 that I have ran. I had some NT555 235/45's before and some Falken FK452's also 235/45, with a tiny bit of stretch, but also more side wall of course. These are just a little wide for my liking on my 9" wheel since they are almost square on the wheels. If I take them off the car anytime soon I can sure measure them!
